Is there any kind soul out there able to provide a "How To" on controlling a desktop remotely?
I do know there is a way if you have WIN8 as ur opsys, but I am sticking with WIN7 until they get to release WIN10 around end July.
If WIN10 has a similar facility, it should then be bob on for recording ur individual races from afar.
Because the stream has to be triggered for recording start, you normally have to be at home in order to set the streaming up and then trigger the recording either via timer or manually, which is a pain when you need to be at the track early.
All ideas welcomed!!!
**As a matter of interest and for those that don't already know - WIN10 will be free to most bona fide WIN7 and WIN 8 users when it's released towards the end of JULY.
Further - it is also rumoured that even "dodgy copy" WIN 7/8 users are to be offered a cut price amnesty deal, watch this space........

Do you want to do this using another computer or iphone/iPad ? Hi Colin, I want to be able to trigger the stream (previously set up ready) before I leave home, via my phone when I am at the track early! The stream doesn't normally come through much before 7ish (or didn't do until the meet start time was changed), so although I can set things up and even start the recorder, I am unable to trigger the Race stream once it starts up, unless I am able to do it remotely. Any advice welcome! I have previously used the NHS software to record from a pre-set window on my desktop, but have always had to wait until the stream begins and then start the recorder, before leaving for the track.

The simplest way is to use Teamviewer. ( www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx ) It is free for private use. Install it on your pc then download the app to your phone. Make sure you define a permanent password on the pc and make a note of "Your id" then when you open the app on your phone and enter the id and password you will have full access to your desktop. Please note that when you close the connection on the phone a pop may appear on your desktop saying saying that this was a sponsored session etc. but this should not affect your recording if are using a predefined window. I have often use vnc in the past but the advantage with teamviewer is that you can hear the sound from the pc as well as seeing the display. They also have a quicksupport app which allows you to access mobile devices so you can access your phone from your pc or access another phone or tablet from yours.
