It's always a blow when any greyhound get's disqualified but it's even worse when they go through the 3 4Dog Clearing trials and then not be allowed to race on the flat thus condemning them to go hurdling.
This GRA rule is a complete out-dated nonsense and need sorting out because it does not apply at other GBGB tracks only the 4 still racing under the GRA banner.
Every greyhound deserves a second chance in my opinion.

TEWMAX LIBRA. OCT12, HAD SOME 45 RACES & NEVER BEEN DISC BEFORE. MULLINGAR GERRY. SEPT 13, ONLY HAD SOME 8 RACES & ALSO NEVER BEEN DISC BEFORE,
TWO DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS,ONE DOG HAS HAD MORE EXPERIENCE THAN THE OTHER, YET, BOTH DISC, IF WE COULD ONLY READ THERE MINDS.

It was quite a shock when Mullingar Gerry didn't get disqualified in it's first race so the only surprise is that he managed to get 2 more races in before he was red-carded.
Tewmax Libra is a different kettle of fish entirely. I've never seen him do anything wrong before and although I haven't seen Saturday's incident he certainly deserves the opportunity to clear his name so to speak.

Really pleased to hear this week that the Belle Vue RM Mr Dave Brayshaw has decided to scrap that crazy BV/GRA rule that when a greyhound get's red-carded it can only race over the hurdles once it has had it's 3 4 dog clearing trials.
As we all know this rule was implement by our old racing manager Mr Rowe a long time ago when he first came up North.
On behalf of the Belle Vue Owners Forum I would like to thank Dave Brayshaw for his forward thinking and hopefully now all greyhounds will get that second chance in racing.

What about the hounds these recidivists will now race against?

Crayford have the same rule, even if dq at another track can only run hurdle races there

Bit late for my pup who is now retired having been disqualified after his second 2 dog trial,he then spent 6 months learning to hurdle and because they insisted he do a 470 hurdle solo-which he wasn't confident to do we had no choice but to retire him. What waste of a greyhound, not to mention time, effort and money!
