Bit late for my pup who is now retired having been disqualified after his second 2 dog trial,he then spent 6 months learning to hurdle and because they insisted he do a 470 hurdle solo-which he wasn't confident to do we had no choice but to retire him. What waste of a greyhound, not to mention time, effort and money!
I can see where your coming from roisin but you can't turn the clock back so to speak.
Now the goal posts have been moved by a forward think racing manager at least it will give any future greyhounds falling foul of the stewards a second bite of the cherry.

Or a second bite of another hound .
Can you explain the welfare side of this decision, Jimmy, since I'm in agreement with Bob Rowe's views on this.
I recall some considerable years ago now Trainer Hutton had a dog disqualified for fighting. After schooling it ran its first hurdle race. On that occasion it was disqualified for a second time after pinning a rival to the hare rail at the second bend. Imagine being the owner of the victim.

I think there should be a common rule for dogs who have been given a red card; namely one further chance and if there's a further aggressive incident warned off. I think the current stance of Bellle Vue management is the right decision.

Rufus, I think what is needed is a fair and even handed application of the rules regarding disqualification.

Agree with Precious on this one would you fancy running one of your dogs? Do we maybe think this change in rules may have something to do with shortage of dogs or am I being cynical
