I was told today that bv are now letting trainers school pups at the zoo, they must be no older than 15months and I think it`s £5 a time. A step in the right direction me thinks. What else do people think could be done by the track to improve the lot of trainers and owners, apart from the obvious increase in monies...?

Reduce the current level of injuries which has decimated the graded strength.

Is that due to the track preparation or the grading of dogs precious..

Injudicious trap placement can, on occasions, lead to injury.
Poor hare driving can also lead to injuries.
Track preparation can lead to injuries. I think that the track staff do a good job. However, I don't think they are given enough time to prepare the track for some of the Tuesday morning trials. The basic problem regarding the track is that it is dearly in need of being re-laid.

There's quite a few belle vue trainers who have bred litters last year. Think all within 3 months of each other. So it's fantastic that they are letting pups school round the track that they will eventually end up racing on. It's a win win for the trainers/owners and Belle Vue. I for one think it's a step in the right direction
