bramble bruno is a case which makes a mockery of the way this comp has gone.his irish form is of the greatest class.his ratings are superb.and to be allowed to compete against GRADED COMPETITORS.shows what is wrong with this comp.you could actually win the irish derby and then still be allowed to compete against inferior class.it wouldnt be allowed in any other sphere.RUINED THE INITIAL INTENTION OF THE COMPETITION.and for me .no more. QUOTE from Mr Peter O'Dowd [Romford Racing Manager] in today's Racing Post...
'Maybe and idea for 2016 would be to include one race unrestricted open-race winners, provided they had contested five graded races at theirtrack in their career.'
It's comments like this from POD that shows BENNY'S comments as 100% correct, a comment I posted myself when the rules were changed in the second year of the compo. It should be - as intended, the "grader owners dream" with anything else for said owners - a welcome bonus! Although I myself love too watch top animals race, we get plenty of choice for this on the open race circuit along with the top opens such as the recent OAKS & LAURELS held at our home track. What do open trainers want - both sides with jam on? Now that things are going from strength to strength, more of this will happen - Insidious creeping springs to mind!

Not sour grapes but, as mentioned previously, the open class dogs make a mockery of the competition. Benny's got it spot on.

Racing manager Chris Page: proud of his Towcester teamTowcester team on top in Championship thriller By Jim Cremin of the Racing Post TOWCESTER became the fifth different track to land the Bags/SIS Track Championship when pulling sufficiently clear of Newcastle after the ninth at Perry Barr on Wednesday to render the last leg meaningless. 'There's only one Lord Hesketh' rang out through the track grandstand, as the Towcester fans and team celebrated. Kevin Ackerman, Towcester's general manager, said: "It's a wonderful climax to the year. We've all thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie of the event, it is exhilarating for us all." Hesketh said: "I'm terribly proud, all the owners, trainers and racing office team have played a blinder. The last time I got sprayed with champagne like this was the Belgian Grand Prix in 1974!" Chris Page, Towcester's racing manager, said: "We've got a wonderful team of trainers, who have given us real strength in depth. It all went to plan when it mattered. Andy Lisemore, who is now at Peterborough, also played a big part in making it happen." Joe O'Donnell, director of stadia for William Hill, congratulated the winners on behalf of Newcastle. "Towcester deserved it, they were the best team on the day," he said. Final scores: Towcester 67, Newcastle 57, Hall Green 51, Belle Vue 37, Romford 37, Monmore 31 Read the full report in Thursday's Racing Post
