I think his dogs should run for his owners and staff ,at the end of the day this was feb 2013not last week but Brain should do his ban at home and his staff run the day to day of the dogs and the vet test the dogs weekly

Brian Thompson is a first class genuine man.Myself and my brother only have Derryhogan Watty with Brian but also had a load of fun(which is all we want) with Karlow Pearl last year.Dont any other belle vue trainers start claiming that they are whiter than white, because none of them are, "there but for the grace of god".Brians put loads into pleasing his owners, going down romford etc and has always kept his dogs in comfort and feeds them well.In horse racing ,does anybody say anything about Evan Williams,Jim Best,Barney Curley,Tim vaughan, even "chemical"Henderson, the list is endless ,every body reading this wishes they knew a bit of a hush hush nudge nudge job.We will stick with Brian and take the financial hit of three months off,and wish him all the best, because hes no different to any other on belle vue,its all part of the game.

I may get in trouble for posting this but what the hell !!!
The normal level for the 5 HTP in a dog is 1.0 ug|ml , the test taken from Brians dog was 2.5 !!! I won't drop any names but there was one trainer who's dogs level was 50.2 !!! There was also a trainer who has had 4 enquiries for time finding from 2012-2013 , has been previously done for using a banned substance and had three dogs test positive for this substance , the committee decided he was guilty of administering the substance himself and yet he was reprimanded and fined £2000 !!! Yes Brian has been up for two things since holding his licence !! 1, a greyhound called HOME ROBBIE who tested positive for a inflammatory substance that was injected into a track leg he has before arrival witch the Irish man sent a letter to confirm and he was still fined !!! Secondly a bitch who all you greyhound knowalls will already know get tested on registration !! She was then tested several weeks later and was found to have the suppression Lorabolin in her test they went back to the first test and sure enough it was in that aswell , again a letter from the Irish man saying he had given to her a few weeks before she was sent over was sent but Brian was still fined !!! So yes he has been before the panel twice and both for things he had no control over !!!! He is in the same boat as every other trainer that had been before the bench and had been found to of breached the same rules as every other trainer yet he is the only one to of been banned , how can this be right / fair ?? If his previous offences have had a part to play in this decision it is Totaly unacceptable in my opinion as they was not under any circumstances his fault !!! Just thought ide explain this for all you people out there preaching something you really don't know that much about !!!

Your right Craig there is a massive irregularity in the gbgb panels way they handle these sort of cases. Let's face it half the country was using these tablets to stop there dogs. Personally I find Brian a bit of a character, and passionate about winning, I for one can't imagine him giving his dogs anything cause he likes winning too much. I remember watching his face when one of his dogs got beat , he loves winning , I hope he is back soon.

I totally agree with the comments made by Craig & Sainsbury. The man is genuine and in my opinion has been treated very very harshly. He cares for and looks after each and every dog together with his staff and I am sure that he will be hurting by the outcome of this enquiry considering that other named trainers having been "convicted" of the same offences have been "reprimanded" I together with friends have had and will continue to have dogs with Brian!!!

Brian is a top guy and very good at what he does.. tbh if it wasnt for him and the lads @ his kennels I wouldnt have dogs on BV.. don`t really know the ins and outs of what happened but I wont wont move any of my dogs permanently out of his kennels and wouldnt hesitate to have dogs with him in the future. Hopefully there is something that can be done, ie someone taking over the kennel for 3months(if thats poss)

I too think Brian Thompson has been treated very harshly on this matter and hope he is able to stick out the suspension. He is a Trainer I have a lot of time for and would not hesitate to back one of his dogs if I fancied it.
Of course the effects of this suspension will be felt by ALL the Owners and Trainers at the track with the likelihood of reduced fields and races.
