One A1 race this week how many of you will have your dogs lay on their bed this week? or have we all gone open racing leaving BV short of top graders.

Perhaps the time has come for the Belle Vue Racing Manager to take a good hard look at the grading.
In the last few months we have seen A1 races won in 27.65sec and as low as 28.20sec..
In my opinion there are far too many grades within grades down at the ZOO these days

There is a shortage of mugs, sorry owners, who are willing to stick their hands in their pockets to buy dogs to run for a pittance, while the promoters cream off a nice living from the BAGs contracts and the sixpackers. The trainers now have to buy their own dogs to keep their numbers up, and they are finding it hard to make the sums add up. So I can't see them forking out a couple of grand for a higher grade dog for the management to abuse!

There clearly is NOT a dog shortage at the moment. It would be interesting to know why that is. Is it simply because more dogs are being brought to the track or has the injury rate come down?

I totally agree that there isn't a dog shortage precious - our db data also tends to back this up! I consider that this anomaly on run quota's is generally down to a fair influx of new dogs to the track boosting the numbers, there have been a fair few recently, mixed with the odd oversight error by the RO - recently acknowledged to one of our owner friends! For the record - there has also been a couple of occasions recently where there have been dogs getting only 2 runs in the month, as happened to one dog - twice!!! Has anyone else on here been on the receiving end of just 2 runs in the month lately?
