Belle Vue must be in great shape if they have enough dogs for grading. They must be doing something right. Well done the GRA.

BELLE VUE is the only greyhound track left now in the North West of England and at this time there is no shortage of greyhounds, but in time if things don't improve there will be a shortage of not just greyhounds but patrons.
If the track does have a future here in Manchester a lot of things need to change but sadly it does appear we are stuck in space under the present owners / management and it is a worry if I'm being honest.

I just wonder if the owners of either Haydock, or Aintree have had a look at Towcester and the feasibility of a dog track on their site. With the threat of the constant running down of tracks by the gra, ( how long as wembley got) the lack of new blood entering the game, something needs to be done. If BV closes the place could be shut up in a matter of months, while it would take a couple of years to replace it. On the bright side people have been shutting this place down for the past ten years, It would be interesting to know how much rent the gra pay for the stadium, for the life of me I dont know why taggart doesnt have a look at the place, the golden triangle a couple of miles away, plenty of money people here in the northwest..

Numbers seem to be down at the moment, Jimmy. I haven't seen you for a while .
I don't think that's due to a lack of interest but due to there being no free offers on at the moment. When they return the numbers will rise again.

I have a feeling this time next week there will be a couple of A1 races down at the ZOO.
But in saying that if the top grade greyhounds are not available to the grader for one reason or another then there's not much he can do about it at this time.

Not enough A1 dogs I've been told. That's why John has been taking starshineedifice to Sheffield on a Tuesday for me.

Should allow outside unattached trainers with minor open racers / A1 dogs to run to make races up and make it more competitive but I know this doesn't go down well with certain parties !!! Simple solution in my eyes !!!

It will happen one day 'lazerus' at the majority of greyhound venues up and down the country.
