HARRIS WITHDRAWS FROM OWNERSHIP VOTE TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR — JUNE 15, 2018
Carl Harris has withdrawn from the elections for the vacant owners seat on the GBGB main board. His withdrawal came after the deadline for the new GBGB Calendar which features his manifesto. The man behind the ‘Pay Up’ (Betfair) campaign said: “Having seen the conditions of appointment, I felt that they would restrict me from expressing my views in a public forum. I understand the reasons for ‘cabinet responsibility’ but I was not prepared to be gagged. I feel that the industry has many significant challenges facing it, but rather like Paul Ephremsen, I could imagine myself becoming frustrated at being unable to say and act in the way that I felt the most appropriate. “I remain committed to this industry and will of course endeavour to support the eventual new board member.”

PRESS RELEASE RE-RUN OF PRACTITIONER ELECTION....
TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR — JUNE 28, 2018
The Greyhound Board of Great Britain has decided to re-run the election for a Practitioner Director to represent greyhound owners after an administrative error led to some owners receiving multiple voting forms and some eligible owners not receiving forms. New voting forms will be sent out next week and the election will close to voting Friday July 20.
GBGB Managing Director Mark Bird said: “I apologise for the fact that we are having to re-run the vote but I’m sure people will understand that we want the process conducted fairly and properly and I’m grateful for people bearing with us”.
All votes that have already been cast will be deemed null and void and eligible owners are requested to cast their votes again. Only the new green voting cards will be counted at the offices of the Barnes Roffe LLP on Tuesday July 24.
