so betfred and now hills, no doubt they no longer pay for the service must therefore have a knock on effect with monies in the pot.. In what way does that effect us John - we don't get anything from the pot anyway nowadays!

ARC/GMG BACK ON THE HILLS MENUFRIDAY 2/11/18:: Following a week in which the William Hill organisation inexplicably dropped all TRP/GMG content except Newcastle and Sunderland from their betting shops, the decision appears to have been reversed writes Floyd Amphlett. of the Greyhound Star.
Today punters could again watch Kinsley, Newcastle, Swindon and Nottingham during the day with Sheffield apparently scheduled to be broadcast on Friday night, along with Sunderland.
To date, we have been unable to obtain an explanation for either decision.

TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR WEBSITE::[/tt] greyhoundstar.co.uk/wor-kev-sees/KEVIN WILDE ABOUT THE NEED TO EMBRACE THE BOOKIES The recent Editors Chair piece about the need for greyhound racing to engage more with the betting industry has been endorsed by former Newcastle and Sunderland promoter Kevin Wilde.
Kevin said: “ Fantastic piece, I have been saying this about the betting for years. Greyhound racing needs to work with the betting industry before it is too late.
“The sport has many interesting people who have a vast knowledge of betting perhaps the GBGB should invite some of them to give their thoughts on what might work
“When I was helping Harry Findley I learnt more about betting in three weeks than I had learnt in 40 years working within the industry. I accept that some people struggle with some of Harry’s views but his knowledge of gambling is second to none.
“Look no further than football for the number of betting opportunities. I can remember when you could only bet home away or draw. Even cricket has more betting opportunities.
“It took the bookmakers a long time to realise they had to offer bets that Betfair wasn’t able to. How about a straight 1-6 jackpot on RPGTV and every day in the shops?
“The GBGB needs a commercial arm. Who promotes greyhound racing? The track promoters only promote their own events. Everyone below the promoters is suffering.
“Nothing has changed for at least 40 years that i am aware of. If the GBGB does not get involved in the commercial side of our sport it will die.”

TWO IRISH TRACKS JOIN EARLY RISERS
Irish tracks Kilkenny (Wednesday) and Waterford (Thursday) are the latest venues to be added to the SIS early morning meetings.
The existing tracks on the service are Henlow (Tuesday, Friday) and Harlow (Saturday).
SIS have stated a plan to provide a ‘8.18am first race’ service between on six days each week which suggests an announcement regarding Mondays can be anticipated.

TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR WEBSITE THURSDAY 13/12/18 greyhoundstar.co.uk/sis-profits-down/SIS PROFITS DOWN AS INDUSTRY BRACES FOR FOBT IMPACT The annual report of Catalyst Media Group, who own just over 20% of media provider SIS reveal an interesting insight to their past and future trading plans.
The company made a profit of just of £1m for the year ending, their share of SIS’s overall profits for the year of £5.1m. That compares to the £17m the previous year and £26m in 2016.
The reason are many and include new contracts being “on lower margins and will affect SIS’s revenue generation an profitability going forward”. The figures don’t include the loss of the horseracing product from ARC.
The biggest concern going forward though is the effect of the reduction in pay-outs of the FOBT machines which are predicted to lead to widespread closure of betting shops.
SIS claim contracts with “98 of the UK and Irish retail market” but like rivals ARC/TRP, they are looking to expand their overseas/digital business. They are also due to introduce a 24 hour service from January.
Although forecasting profits for the next year between £3.5m-£4.5m the chairman’s report concedes some uncertainty saying: “There are a wide range of outcomes for subsequent profitability, the levels of which are too variable to forecast today”

TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR WEBSITE:
Ladbrokes respond to Brian Kempton letter
I’d like to respond to Brian Kempton’s letter regarding Ladbrokes/Coral not taking bets in shops for RPGTV races to provide clarification on the matter.
At this time, Ladbrokes and Coral contractually only have the SIS service in our shops which includes the rights to display pictures, receive data and ultimately take bets. We do not have the rights for the TRP schedule in Retail and for legal reasons we are therefore unable to take bets on any meeting that is included on the TRP schedule.
As the majority of RPGTV content is on the TRP schedule – this results in us not being able to provide prices in Retail, however they will always be available Online where we do have the rights for the content.
For meetings that are covered on both the SIS schedule and RPGTV (Romford on Friday nights and Central Park on Sunday nights) we do have prices available in Retail that are Online too.
Away from RPGTV, we offer a wide range of prices for Open races on the SiS service available to shop customers (e.g. Hove opens on a Thursday night). I hope that helps Mr Kempton understand the situation – we are not discriminating against the shop customer – it’s just that for legal we can’t offer the service in Retail, but are able to Online.
