incidentally, I won't see a penny of the bonus for me personally. however, that doesn't change a thing, when ever did the bv personnel stick together, iv been there for a good few years now and I have never known it. BV is one of the only places that the trainers/owners have never stuck together [as you call it] we have a representative who has never done anything for anyone other than themselves, it's easy to blame someone any one if it suits.and owners are notorious for self-centered dealing .usually. I don't know if its a good or bad deal and the powers at bv don't give money away willy nilly. if there is a proposed new deal then nobody knew or was aware of one.and until I see a new deal then its business as usual.[famous phrase.]from you know who.

The trainers do there job for pittance and tbf if they can secure themselves a few quid fair play. Owning a greyhound isn't a massively expensive hobby, if prize money went up then training fees should raise anyway.

Doncaster, Central park, Henlow and Harlow have been poached by Ladbrokes/Coral to support their tracks next year in opposition to BAGS. Of course this means Belle Vue won't be shown in Ladbrokes Corals and Betfred shops. It is Ladbrokes/Corals wish that the likes of Belle Vue,Kinsley and Sheffield can't compete and go to the wall. Were Doncaster to prosper, poach a couple of trainers, use other tracks trainers to pad out their cards in opens then it will be to the detriment of Belle Vue. Therefore i don't think it is unreasonable to ask for a bit of loyalty and perhaps not support Doncaster and the other Ladbrokes/Corals tracks and if a small loyalty bonus has been paid then i'm sure its welcome?

What have the GRA ever done to warrant loyalty from anyone Alex I think everyone is missing the point had trainers not been so quick to grab a few quid for themselves or been conned into doing so they could have negotiated a better deal for not only themselves but for us the owners as well.
How much is the bonus per week over 18 months? Just under 13pound a week.
Sounds like a great deal to me. Not

Owning a greyhound isn't a massively expensive hobby, if prize money went up then training fees should raise anyway. And if they don't stick together and negotiate then they will always be working for a pittance but that horse has already bolted and if you think owning a greyhound is not very expensive you must have money to burn perhaps not all owners are so lucky

You can own a greyhound for less than £1500 per year. Can be purchased at £500, training fees £6 per day (£180 pm - say £100 pm prize money). It really isn't expensive. Yes it can get expensive if you have 2/3/4/5/6+. My point is if prize money doubled, training fees should nearly double so would work out the same for owners anyway

One major point in all this is that no trainer is being force to sign anything some will and some won't
The main thing is those that don't sign on the dotted line are not being shown the door by the GRA OR ARE THEY RUNNING THAT RISK?
I think this whole affair has been handled very badly by the BV/GRA management but that's only my opinion the fact remains the same for owners you buy a greyhound and place it in the care of a GBGB trainer the track you decide to race it on is down to you to choose.
