Hove confirms February slot for new Winter Derby.....

HOVE has confirmed details of the Coral Winter Derby which will showcase the new 490m distance next month.
Worth £10,000 to the winner, the first four-bend Category One event of 2019 will be run on three consecutive Thursdays – February 21, February 28 and March 7 – and conclude two days before the expected start of the RPGTV Steel City Cup at Sheffield.
“We’re well into the launch of the 490m trip and it’s going really well,” said Ian Smyth, director of stadia for Ladbrokes Coral.
“We’ve had positive feedback from local owners and trainers and also some excellent entries for the open-races we’ve staged.
“I think we got the distance right with 490m as I wouldn’t have wanted any shorter a run to the bend and, as it is, we’ve found the greyhounds generally going round okay.”
Saturday 1st June is CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL NIGHT! And we'll be showing it live here at the stadium. Head down to watch some thrilling Greyhound racing, then round the night off with what's sure to be an incredible game of football.
