There has been a lot of vacant traps of late i do hope there is not a shortage of greyhounds at this time?
But if there is for one reason or another i would expect to see our Saturday race card's 13 races reduced to 12 for starters.
No one likes 5 dog races but sometimes there better than nothing...

when you look at the situation it is a load of factors that make the position of grading crucial in getting the right races for the right dogs. with the general outlook of ALL trainers and owners, it's also inevitable that not every dog will receive the right and proper treatment.or traps how many dogs do you see being made to run from inappropriate traps? this then leads to a chain reaction of injuries and messy racing. that then goes on to a shortage of dogs for the right grades to be able to run from the traps that result in decent run racing. when the racing is more equal be it by chance or design, the result is well-graded finishes. the grader imo just wants a clean well-contested race.he or she isn't usually concerned with a particular dog /owner but a clean result. not where it finishes now I could well be of beam here but it makes a semble of sense. and if you don't agree then give us/me your opinions.

I think your right with the main concern being a clean race, but we the general public don`t know the racing strength the ro have to make up the card`s, forty of the dog`s that ran at the weekend are out this wednesday. You can only assume there is a shortage, regarding favouritism if your dog wins all is ok, if it get`s beat it`s those b...strds not giving it a chance....but then again that is another part of the sport people`s opinion and the banter that goes with it, and long may it continue..

Biggest problem is Scott has too many Railers and Mid-Rails types. Iβve had issues getting genuine middle dogs away from 5-6box (fantastic diva and gurtnacrehy Theo). They just shove dogs wider than they want without much concern for owners who have to foot the bill when they go lame. Only have to look at Drumgower hope sat in 5, Ragandboneman 5 sat, Fahy Rush and Belle Vue poppy both had a spell in 3 box and they are bang railers, Glasmeen shine being in 4, old fort bendito being in 4 when dropping on rails, Slaneyside Nevin being in 4/5 when wants 2/3, Dark as night always seems to end up in 5. Yes I understand itβs a thankless job and you canβt please everyone all the time but some of the boxing is shambolic really. The comments donβt help when a dog is in 5 you can predict what comment will be on card Mid-Wide (doesnβt matter if railed all way round) Also treatment of dogs like Highview trend and Go slow no (just cuz wide runners) who win an A2 in 28.30 and get put in an A1, they go off 10/1-16/1 just to make a 6 dog race because no side dogs. I would much sooner see 5 dog races than races made up just to have 6 in the race and 2/3 in wrong boxes and handicapped for trouble..

well, that's a good reply vegas.it shows you think about things before you write. recently I have tried to buy wide or widish runners. however, everyone wants a railer. then it means to many dogs are being accommodated to the detriment of dogs being forced to run from wider traps that just don t help them to do there proper time. then you're perceived to be less of a trainer. it happens it has always happened since too many races were introduced years ago.

Yeah itβs far from ideal. Wide dogs are better buys atm. Guaranteed your trap nearly every run and will get some plot draws
