Basil is now in competition with his litter sister Dill. Fantastic run on Wednesday 27.92 before the going allowance added- still 28.02π all the more pleasing being home bred. It's a pity Montos Mark is retired from stud as I'm sure Sally( Solid Ace) would have had a third litter to him. Basil is off to Nottingham tonight to try his luck there- not sure if 500 maybe a little too far, but you have to try.

Basil had today been brought in as a reserve for this year's Derby, joining our other three runners: ex Belle Vue grader Nidderdale Lark, Loher Honey and Craigland Jack. None are good enough to win the competition, but we are all enjoying the experience π
