What is the meaning of 'eased'? Eased off or eased out? hendax - whereas when "checking" a greyhound breaks its stride "easing" is the term used when it slows from racing pace by shortening its stride. Usually a sign of a timid greyhound, often one that has previously taken a tumble and "eases" to avoid repeating the experience. May well be a clever greyhound but not focused on the lure and generally need space and a clear run to win.
