I wouldnt't worry about it too much Beanster. The races will consist of BV graders and local unattached trainers with dogs that shouldnt be open racing. The top dogs and trainers wont be sighted!!  |

The Julie Bateson trained BORNA BOB who flew round the ZOO [27:56sec] at yesterday's trial session can be seen in action next Tuesday over at the Owlerton Stadium, Sheffield.

Julie may be at BV on the 28th Jimmy, but do you think any of the other 5 will be represented on the night?? I think all the top trainers have got out of the habit of coming to BV now, other than on the Sky night. Is the Greyhound Derby final not scheduled for the next night as well, with the Sunderland classic soon after. Those 2 meetings will take care of a lot of the top dogs as well if they are around the end of June.

A lot will depend on the prize-money structure this year in these minor open races planned for Belle Vue. If the GRA do not pay decent appearance money then these minor open races will not fill week in week out for sure. |

I do not dislike open racing..i dislike a5 from Notts/ Sheff running at bv in what can only be described as immitating opens..why not put them on the bags ?
