Hopefully the new curtain will be in place in the catching area/sough in the next few days.
Greyhounds not being caught at the drop off has been a problem for many weeks now down at Belle Vue and I'm sure the new curtain will be money well spent by the GRA Local Management and can only benefit our greyhounds in the long term..

TAKEN FROM THE SIS WEBSITE15 May 2013 Independents boosted by SIS's greyhound coverage SIS's commitment to restore greyhound racing to Sky Sports and simulcast it into betting shops is paying dividends for independent bookmakers.
With the fifth meeting of the series having taken place at Hove last night, the fixtures are proving a hit with LBOs, with increased interest and activity through the tills.
There has also been a surge in Tote betting, with SIS promoting those pool bets via its coverage.
SIS stepped in to resurrect the greyhounds programme following Skyβs decision late last year to pull the plug on production. The decision was greeted with dismay by the greyhound fraternity and bookmakers alike, who saw the coverage as a valuable platform for the sport.
But SIS agreed to put in place an alternative plan, involving fewer fixtures from higher profile courses β a move which was put together by BAGS Chairman Tom Kelly and SIS Managing Director George Irvine.
Key to the deal was that the Sky fixtures would also be beamed into betting shops. Irvine described it as "a win-win" all round, adding: "What this means is greater exposure for greyhound racing, with the prestige events also going to the shops. Itβs great news for greyhound fans, owners and sponsors, and can only mean more betting and more Fund income."
That has been borne out by an increase in off-track betting among independents, especially those which can take bets on the Tote via Tote Direct terminals.
That numbers up to 700 sites and one of them, Peter Martinelli of College Racing, said: "The Tote Jackpot and Placepot pools were being promoted on SIS and also during the Sky coverage so independent bookmakers like ourselves asked the Tote to enable us to take the bets in the normal way through Tote Direct terminals. Basically, I wanted the small independent bookmakers who previously couldn't bet directly into the pools to have a level playing field.
"In the three meetings since we were able to use the terminals, we have seen good business. I have been pleased with the results and I think there is a lot more mileage with the product if it is advertised properly.
βAnything that drums up more trade for the smaller bookmakers must be a good thing and if it centres around greyhound racing, then so much the better."
Dominic Ford, of Roar Betting, said: "The racing on Sky means there are more high-quality dog races being broadcast in our shops than there might otherwise have been and that's a very positive thing."
A spokesperson for the Tote said: "Thereβs no doubt the programming and SIS's promotion of the pools is stimulating off-course betting in shops."'
