I'm amazed to see that at tomorrow's Bags meeting the Belle Vue Racing office team have no less than 24 greyhounds on the reserves bench.
Why they need to make so many greyhounds attend the meeting is a mystery..
Normal weeks we have 14 /16 greyhounds on reserve for these Wednesday afternoon Bags slots but for some unknown reason this week it's a massive 24 --- DO THE BV RO TEAM KNOW SOMETHING WE DON'T?

'IF' Belle Vue is to remain with the present format of 4 meetings a week at which only 2 of those meetings our trainers can get trials then I would like to see the trial day switched to either Monday or Tuesday morning.
This way it would be possible to get if need be two trials in to our greyhounds in the same week making the process of qualifying a new greyhound much more quicker and easier and more cost effective in the long run.
Other than that the Belle Vue Racing office team need to look at allowing trials before or after the Sunday and Wednesday Bags slots. This practice does happen at other venues around the country and seems to work OK.
I have noticed of late it can take four/five weeks to get a new greyhound on the card which is not good enough in my opinion and also can prove very costly having a greyhound sat on his kennel waiting to get on to the race card proper.
