The only thing missing for me is they didnt touch on what happens when they finnish racing, but a very good interview sems plenty of money knocking about over there but he did say they could travel 3K miles between tracks but for a couple million dollars a year we could handle that, maybe even get some staff in

Great vid john, he told us what a lot of us knew already, that the bookies are taking out and not putting anything back into the product.
It is also interesting to hear how bouyant the oz and u.s.a. markets are both doing and they both use the t.a.b. or tote system governed by a central body and we and the irish are both on our arses using the corner bookie system.
I think someone needs to bring in a legislation in to sort all this out, i am sure the government could earn out of this as well.

i dont think it could ever operate the same here.the big bookmaker concerns are to enshrined into the make up of making money for the goverment. if it could be replaced without causing to much change then maybe it stands a chance. but the bookies would get less so.it hasnt a hope in hell.they are in a position of paying peanuts for a good product.WHY CHANGE. having said all that.the off course monies payed to the gbgb realises a good few quid.but only a small percentage comes back to the sport.a lot goes on expensive offices and well paid jobs for the connected.and supporting the infra stucture of the tracks. wouldnt it be nice for some one else to pay your exes while you shuffle of the profits.but dont forget you constantly have to plead poverty. this is of course my opinion and not to be taken seriously.

I take it the Aussies watch the races at home on the tv or on the internet? does anybody know. I think it would be impossibleto break the bookies in fact with all the vertual racing and watching people betting on such races the bookies could break dog racing if puch comes to shove...On a lighter note has that starter at millersfield got the best arse or what...
