Certain dogs seem to get stuck in the BAGs meeting schedule. In the last two months I have a bitch whose run 5 times, 4 of which have been BAGs (and it's looking likely this week will be the BAGs as well).
Some may think me mad, but I used to quite like combining watching the dog racing with taking the missus out to the restaurant, so the lack of Fri/Sat runners is a real negative for me. I could still do this, but it's not the same when you haven't got a runner. Whilst I'm not imminently going to throw the towel in, I'd be a lot happier if I was getting a 50/50 BAGs/non BAGs ratio, which shouldn't be too much to expect.

Reading the thread it is fairly obvious that most owners want to be at te track to see their dog run, but accept that the track has a BAGS contract to honour. Owners just want to be treated fairly, but i suspect that when the racing office put the card together they do not take into account how often the dog has run on a BAGS meeting. I suppose a bit more time and effort is needed to treat everyone as fairly as possible but let's hope they read this thread and give it a go.

HURDLE RACING AT THE ZOO.
In recent weeks there has been plenty of greyhounds being schooled over the hurdles at the weekly Thursday trial sessions.
Hopefully hurdle races will become more popular and feature on every race card including BAGS meetings, and also I'm hoping to see a BGRF £500 Bonus Series competition on the card soon, but of course this can only happen if the Racing Office team have plenty of greyhounds graded on over the sticks.
I myself have two new greyhounds who will be coming on to the Belle Vue race card soon and I know of a couple of other owners who at this time are toying with the idea of trying there greyhounds over the sticks shortly.
At this time were stuck with those carazy badly graded KS [Kennel Stakes] race's and what we really need is H1, 2,3, and 4s events on the weekly card.
Remember if you don't try your greyhound over the jumps you will never know what they may have been capable off.
In years gone by I've seen hurdle open races over the 260m and 670m staged at the ZOO and who knows in the not so distant future we may with a bit of luck see some graded hurdle races over various distances at Belle Vue.
But of course it would be great if Belle Vue still had a set of handicap traps available but sadly under the present management that seems a lost cause both on the flat and over the sticks.

There are 16 contract trainers on Belle Vue at this time and not all of them have hurdlers in there care.
How are we ever going to see regular races over the jumps when not every trainer is involved?
