 Alien Planet has drawn the red jacket in the Racing Post Juvenile. Racing Post Juvenile: Lister's Alien draws the red box THE draw for the £5,000 Racing Post Juvenile was made by Jonathan Kay live on RPGTV on Thursday evening and Barrie Draper's pairing of Ballymac Eske and Farloe Warhawk pulled traps three and four respectively.

 Wimbledon: home of the William Hill Springbok
Springbok: Meteor flies as Lorenzo crashes out
THREE semi-finals of the William Hill Springbok were run at Wimbledon this evening.
The first two from each eliminator go forward to Tuesday's £5,000 to-the-winner final - an event that will share top billing with the Racing Post Juvenile on the live Sky Sports programme.
The first semi-final produced an upset result with ante-post favourite Droopys Lorenzo crashing out. Dean Childs' black was in front when making a mistake at the second flight and was passed by Michael Hall's Durrow Lark (6-1). Tony Collett's Lenson Johnny ran on well to snatch second spot - half-a-length behind the 29.53sec winner.
Katie O'Flaherty's Rockview Royal was sent off 1-4 favourite for the second eliminator and dominated from stat to finish - making all to beat Pat Rosney's Green Amigo by 3 1/2L in 29.59sec.
Heat three saw Ricky Holloway's Westmead Meteor (4-5F) beat Norah McEllistrim's Druids Abouttime to complete Tuesday's line-up. Breaking well and pacing up, the Droopys Vieri whelp stormed to a 6 1/4L success in a superior 29.23sec.

I know I'm biased but I really think 14/1 looks a big price for Meteor in the ante-post market. That makes him joint 6th favourite with a dog he beat 10.5 lengths in a trial, and a dog he beat 2.5 lengths last night, with the tenth favourite a length further back still. A 30.26 (N) trial at Coventry last night, hitting hurdles, seems in no way to endorse Droopys Lorenzo's right to be 7/4 ante-post favourite for the competition particularly given it's temperament, and considering that some of the other fancied dogs appear to have, shall we say, suspect hurdle technique, and an apparent dislike of Wimbledon then it might be a fascinating competition. Biased or not i'm having a nibble e/w thanks for posting your thoughts  Good luck in the comp. Superb performance in his semi from Meteor djdjdj that 14/1 voucher could be a winner thanks again. |
