Paul gregson's withdrawls

There was a GBGB Steward on duty last night at the ZOO doing random drug testing and for all we know that may have had something to do with the Belle Vue racing office teams decision on the night?

Anyway at the end of the day the main thing was the welfare of trainer Gregson his greyhounds will all have been withdrawn technical so there will be no need for any of them to re-trial before they race again.

Of course the owners concerned will be disappointed but so was Paul Gregson, this sort of thing can happen from time to time you have just got to put in down to one of those things!

I can now confirmed now the full facts as what resulted in trainer Paul Gregson being taken ill last night during the meeting at Belle Vue.

When Paul fell sick the GBGB Drug Testing Steward who was on duty at the track last night alerted the the GBGB Stipendary Steward for advice.

The result was none of Mr Gregson's greyhounds were allowed to race due to his non presence and were all withdrawn under GBGB rules by the Belle Vue Stewards who were on duty last night.

Having spoken to Paul on the Monday, to make sure that he was OK, he felt a bit agrieved that all dogs were withdrawn, when in fact by the time Sue, his wife had arrived at the track, there would have only been reason to withdraw one dog, the rest of the hounds could have been prepared by Sue.

What else could the stewards on duty do in this situation 'cheesy' The trainer fell ill and was rushed to Hospital, On the night the trainer did not have a kennel-hand with him, the GBGB Steward who was at the track doing random drug testing alerted the local GBGB Stipendary Steward for a ruleing.

UNDER GBGB RULES: ALL OF THE REMIANING PAUL GREGSON GREYHOUNDS WERE WITHDRAWN..

It's history now let's hope it does not happen again not just to Paul but to any of our contract trainers.
