Lemon Pluto: won trial after first bend collision to night Wimbledon: Derby trials before racing SaturdayTYRUR SUGAR RAY ended up on the deck at the first bend in a two runner trial on Saturday night over the William Hill Derby course. The plan of P J Fahy to give him a sprint sharpener on Wednesday worked - he broke well and was only just beaten for pace up (4.89 sectional) by Charlie Lister's Lemon Pluto.
Lemon Pluto made for the rails at the turn, and in cutting in, bowled Tyrur Sugar Ray over. Appearing none the worse, the Irish star picked himself up and, although beaten a distance (officially 22 and a half lengths) did make up a huge amount of ground.
Fahy said afterwards: "He seems ok, we'll get him home and take a look - we'll give him every chance. He was going so well."
Fastest of the session was the 28.75sec from Dean Childs' Droopys Loner (aso fastest sectional, 4.78sec). Droopys Ed Moses, hopelessly outpaced early, took off close home to be only beaten a length.
Shelbourne Geoff and Kereight King collided at the bend in their trial, so ignore the time.
The draw is 1pm Sunday.WIMBLEDON STADIUM
