Tough task for anti post favourite Ballymac Eske drawn inside off rails bound Garryglass Rodge Wonder what odds would be on offer for Eske not to qualify? anybody spotted any special bets? he will still qualify because he has too much all round speed and class but it won't be an easy task by any means.

Heat 2 on Friday is now for five runners, with trap one vacantAshfield Impact out of the William Hill Derby..IRELAND's challenge for the Derby has been reduced from 26 to 25 following an injury sustained by Ashfield Impact in a trial at Coventry on Sunday.
Vinnie Morris, trainer of Ashfield Impact, was only miles from Fishguard on his way home to Rosslare Harbour on Monday morning when contacted.
He said: โThe news is not good. He picked up a very nasty cut on the back of the wrist and heโs in the back of the van now with a splint on. He was really flying but it wasnโt the fault of the track, it was fine. Itโs just one of those things.
โWe were to give him a trial at Wimbledon last Wednesday but he had a slight problem and we had to wait. So we gave him the spin at Coventry. Thatโs the end of the challenge now and itโs a pity as he was in really top form and I felt he had a nice draw.โ
Trap 1 is now vacant in Friday's heat 2.

been pretty lucky over the years in the Greyhound Derby, Backed The hawk in its first win and Kinda ready at 50/1 and 100/1 . The way I look at it I will need to back a lot of losers to give them those winnings back. Anyway I feel it can be wise to leave your bets until after the first round. Bookies tend to react too much to a really good run or in fact a poor run by a good dog. We can forgive a dog a poor run . I for one will be having a few bets after the first round has been completed.
Good Luck to everyone and there bets on this years Greyhound Derby. Regards Stewart from a rainy Blackpool

Barefoot Allstar: withdrawn from the William Hill Derby Hennessy's Allstar gets pulled out of the Derby THE strong Irish challenge for the William Hill Derby is down to 24 after Paul Hennessy was forced to withdraw Barefoot Allstar this evening at (lame, 17.40pm).
Last year's Scottish Derby champion had been pleasing in recent trial work after a few setbacks but pulled up lame after a final gallop before travelling to England.
"He seemed fine immediately afterwards but it then became clear there was an issue and he's pulled a hind muscle," said Hennessy.
"It's a real shame as he did his fastest-ever time round Kilkenny last week and it's clear all the ability is still there. I was really looking forward to running him at Wimbledon but it's not to be."
Hennessy still has five representatives in the Derby, while the absence of Barefoot Allstar means trap one will be vacant in heat 20 on Saturday.
