Fear Emoski: stirring effort to take the Coral Regency final at HoveFear Emoski beats car and race traffic in style FEAR EMOSKI produced a wonderfully determined effort to power through to Coral Regency glory at a rain-swept Hove on Tuesday night.
A nightmare seven hours of traffic did Charlie Lister's bitch few favours on her way down from Newark, and she faced further problems when Sidaz Slippy set off in front, closely pursued by Ayamsabeauty.
The latter, trained by David Mullins, kicked on at the third to heap further pressure on the favourite, but Fear Emoski answered the question in effective fashion, gamely battling to the front off the last turn. She then held a late flourish from Musical Gaga, last for most of the race, to win by over a length in 41.35sec for the 695m trip.
Lister said afterwards: "She's a great bitch and as good as I've had." Given he trained super-star Spring Rose, quite a compliment, but entirely justified by the manner of this, her seventh win in a row for owners Simon Wooder, Daren Johnson, Ian St Pier and Marcus Reeder.
Wooder was further cheered by securing the forecast as he also owns a share in Musical Gaga.
Earlier John Mullins' Ballymac Swift made it four in a row in the 930m marathon, but was made to work hard by Michaels Gift who bowled along in front before giving way off the last turn. Black Lamora stayed on for second.
Droopys Odell took the pups race nicely for Seamus Cahill (30.12sec), Mark Wallis's Bridge Ruth ran away with another 515m (29.76sec) and Beanos Kelly confirmed the fine impression he made during the Regency with a determined run to take a 695m for Jason Heath (41.32sec). Bouncy Bocko was an eye-catcher in third here, finishing fast after trouble.
Islas Scolari made it a double for Cahill with a thrilling 515m win just before the Regency (29.78sec), getting up to catch Airlie Impact by a short-head, with Gemstone Jack and Droopys Ed Moses close up.
