What about a real early paced debutant in A2 catapulting from trap 3 DATONA DUKE with a 4.16 split, who is very raw flew round to record the fastest time of the week-end a 28.04.He as since returned last week for his second outing with a 4.18 split, but came off the 2nd bend allowing Tewmax Leejay up his inside,he then rallied and ran on well going down by a length in 27.96.After spending 3 to 4 months off with a bacterial infection on his lungs during his schooling, we thought he would never be strong enough to see out 470m. He had dehydrating problems and could take up to a week to recover after each run before he could wee normally again, after all the drama in getting him racing his performances have brought a real thrill to connections. Many thanks to Kath Harris and the vet Evan Houldsworth for his time & effort spent on Tonka.

there certainly are some power packed performances from young animals at bv recently.has the standard of the strenght gone up.or is the track gone a lot faster.the 590s in particular have gone crazy.35-11 is a stunning top open time recently recorded in a trial, and there are other very fast times .is the track on fire.

I'd say the track does seem to be running fast. There has been some new talent arrived but there are also dogs who've been on the books a while doing (deservedly) tidy runs.
