TROPHY

I won my first sponsored race on Friday and picked up my first ever 'trophy' at Belle Vue. I know its only a little thing and it's the win that counts but I must be honest and admit to being a little disappointed with what I got.
Of course anything is better than nothing but for my first trophy I wanted something I could actually display but got two glasses which, though very nice, weren't even engraved.
I've seen the trophies vary from bowls to glasses to flutes to actual trophies. The glasses would of been fine if they were engraved to say what they were actually for and I could then at least display them but it would be daft to have them out as they are with no kind of reference as to what they were for.

Don't worry 'hendax' you will enjoy plenty of more success throughout the year of that I'm sure of with your current team of greyhounds.
Over the years Belle Vue Stadium have given out some real decent trophy's but unfortunately of late the standard does seem to have dipped some what. Of course the powers that be should you ask them will tell you it's all down to cost cutting I suppose?
The main thing is enjoy your recent win and fill up your glasses with a decent wine and look forward to your next trophy winner.

I THINK THIS WOULD BE THE IDEAL TROPHY FOR WHEN YOUR GREYHOUND'S WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO WIN A SPONSORED RACE DOWN AT THE ZOO....

I've got a couple of greyhound figures that are both engraved, and also a clock that is engraved. All 3 are really nice mementos. Bit disappointing that you have received something that doesn't have the engraving on. All it needs is a small plaque with Belle Vue winner on!!!

It's that long since I actually received a trophy at Belle Vue , the last one was made from the shrapnel of a German bomb dropped by a Heinkel !
Just enjoy the win anything extra is a bonus and more towards the kennel bill.

The one advantage of an un-engraved prize is you can always give them again as present to an unsuspecting recipient. My mother in laws side board has never looked better since I started giving them to her as birthday and Xmas presents.

Nice one 'marto'
I know some very close to me that in a 18 month period won no less than 12 of those little clocks the track use to come up with as trophies.
I visited a care home only last month and in rooms 1 - 12 them clocks were still going strong, sadly some of the old folk that use to live there had moved on but them little clocks were still ticking away.
