Can I ask, is a win an automatic upgrade regardless of time? I'm sure I saw in the card last week a dog that had won it's last race but wasn't upgraded. Is this possible or maybe a typo?
I ask because Fangin Feather won an A5 contest in 29:08 on Sunday. She hasn't run that slow since A7 yet is now upgraded to A4. If it's automatic then fair enough. If not, seems harsh.

Dogs are usually automatically upgraded after a win. Exceptions can be when it has won a heat of an owners series, it will then run in the final in the same grade. When it comes in as a late reserve on the night. When it is down to run on the advance card for a Saturday, prior to running on Wednesday BAGS. If it wins on the Wednesday, sometimes it is left in the same grade on a Saturday so the race doesnt't need changing. Winning time isnt usually a case for not upgrading. Turnmoss Smokey has won its last 4 races, 3 of them in a photo. It has found 50 spots in that time over 3 weeks. However you would have thought that if it only won an A6 by a neck it wouldnt win an A3, but it did.

John, I am quite good at calming myself down, (The doctor gives me tablets to help) but Bill is positively steaming and I stand by his comments and by his possible actions regarding the future of these two dogs.

That's what I would've thought so I'm still a bit baffled why a dog winning in 29:08 is upgraded to A4 when she hasn't run that slow since A7.
