This problem has only arisen since the Belle Vue Management decided to do away with the Thursday night meetings.
Bring Back Thursday Evening Meetings - Make things easier for our trainers and owners.
OR I AM EXPECTING TO MUCH FROM THE POWERS THAT BE IN CHARGE OF THE GREYHOUND STADIUM THESE DAYS?

Jimmy, Skippy makes the same point as i'm going to make. Trials are available on a Thursday. It's not the tracks fault if trainers don't want to use them. If an owner has a greyhound sat on its bed waiting to be qualified but the trainer won't take it to Thursday trials, then surely that's something for the owner to raise with their trainer.FAIR COMMENT IN THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY HENRY YOU HAVE HIT THE NAIL ON IT'S HEAD.

why cant they put thur night racing back on with some opens from 6.30pm till 9.30pm then have trials from 3.00pm to 6.00pm come on BV sort it out NOT A BAD IDEA 'BT'
BUT THIS IS BELLE VUE AND I'M AFRAID THERE IS VERY LITTLE FORWARD THINKING THESE DAYS SADLY A LOT PEOPLE ARE SET IN THERE WAYS AND DON'T WELCOME CHANGE.
BUT AS WE ALL KNOW YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT CHANGES THESE DAYS OR YOU ARE SOON OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE REAL WORLD.

The BV racing office could ease this problem by relaxing the 14 day rule required only to my knowledge by gra tracks....Asked at Nottingham and was told 28 days at their discretion..

When was the last time that a Thursday trial session was over subscribed don't think it ever is, so that said there can be no problem there are more than enough available trials each week so why would the track want to make more available doesn't make economic sense from their point of view

IT'S ALL DOWN TO MONEY AT THE END OF THE DAY 'cowboyjoe' We've had Tuesday nights & Thursday nights and unfortunately they weren't well enough supported to make them viable for the track. Fridays are going that way as well now. I'm sure in an ideal GRA world, we would have 3 BAGS cards and a Saturday Night card. BAGS cards are a dream for the GRA. No expenditure on staff, programmes or marketing, and a big wedge coming in.

LET'S HOPE THE GRA GET AWARDED ANOTHER BAGS MEETING AT THE ZOO AND WITH A BIT OF LUCK IT COULD TAKE PLACE AT NIGHT DOWN AT BELLE VUE.
THAT WAY EVERYBODY WOULD BE HAPPY - OR WOULD THEY ?

I understand what your saying. But maybe an open race night would attract people more than what a graded card would do on a Thursday night. But its like you say, money! If they don't offer good prize money there not going to attract the good dogs from around the country.
