LET'S HOPE THE GRA GET AWARDED ANOTHER BAGS MEETING AT THE ZOO AND WITH A BIT OF LUCK IT COULD
TAKE PLACE AT NIGHT DOWN AT BELLE VUE.
THAT WAY EVERYBODY WOULD BE HAPPY - OR WOULD THEY ? Jimmy - surely another BAGS contract would only help the track - financially from the contract, but be seriously detrimental to "non trainer" ownership - UNLESS it is scheduled for an evening? It is hard enough for some to see their individual hounds run as it is, and although losing Thursday only had an effect on the minority, being as Henry states - poorly supported, imo that another daytime meeting would help drive individual owners away from the track - not bring them in closer! Another daytime meet would make it 5 - three would then be daytime, and with extra dogs spread further this could well be a recipe for disaster - unless of course Sunday was promoted and made into a proper Family day - with extras, plus decent catering being made available throughout. I think extra promotion for our hobby/sport was highlighted in the recent survey - so get to it boys, do as promised, starting here in the North West at Belle Vue - the so called jewel in the crown.......we're waiting...... |

I think they should do more with the Sunday bags meeting, carry on for another couple of hours, either opens or graded, sky sports in the down stairs bar, franchise the restaurant out for Sunday dinners, fill the place with families. The staff are already there, free entry give it a go for three months...Regards kennelling back fill as they become vacant..

I agree a Sunday roast or even put a carvery on, families are going out for meals on Sundays anyway why not attract them to belle vue for a meal they could make it a great Sunday afternoon for the whole family. Has belle vue ever thought about having poker tournaments on as well or are they not allowed? It might bring more people to the track. Some dog tracks in Florida have card rooms. |

Seems like we are racing every Thursday in December, so now's the chance for everyone to support the meetings and give the GRA something to think about

We used to have a few coolhand lukes that posted on here, don't know if a license is required or not, cannot see it bringing in much revenue, but as Teso says... ... .....

You could be right, they would have to employ dealers and staff to run it, I just think it would be a great place for a card room and tournaments. If they staged a big money torunament which stated around 9 pm it may bring a couple of hundred extra people in, who may all arive early to watch the racing, have a drink and a bit to eat. Once the last race is over everybody leaves if there was a card room or casino on site like at Sheffield alot of people would stay. How about a sports book like in Vegas casinos with big screens showing and gambling on racing from all over the world all through the night? |

WE ALL NOW THINGS DON'T ALWAYS GO OUR WAY BUT COME DECEMBER IF WE START RACING
AGAIN ON A THURSDAY EVENING AT THE ZOO THESE MEETINGS HAVE TO BE WELL ATTENDED / SUPPORTED IN ORDER FOR THE GRA/BELLE VUE MANAGEMENT TO KEEP THEM GOING INTO 2014 AND BEYOND.

WHAT I WILL SAY IS THAT FROM TIME TO TIME WE ALL THINK THE BELLE VUE MANAGEMENT DON'T PLAN AHEAD
BUT I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE ROLL ON DECEMBER..
