Will they have enough dogs on the strength to run five meetings a week? Or will they need some more trainers? I don't know why they don't open up and allow none contract trainers to run in graded races. If you have a greyhound trainers licence and live in Lancashire, Greater Manchester area and you don't have dogs good enough for opens then apart from Kinsley there's nowhere to run. There's people locally that have licences or relinquised licences who would train there own dogs but don't bother buying dogs anymore simply for that reason. I think a time should come one day where if you have a GBGB licence you should be able to run your dogs in graded races on any track in the country, it works in Ireland

You must bear in mind between now and December there are quite a few open race competitions to held and also weekly minor open races will feature on the Belle Vue race-cards subject to enough entries being received each week.
We have 16 contract trainers at this time at the ZOO and it's a fact that not every greyhound in there care get's more than 4 races per month... So in my opinion we most certainly have enough trainers to cope with any extra demands in the short term.
I can see where your coming from 'cowboyjoe' with yourself holding a trainers license at this time but I can't see your suggestion of allowing not contract trainers to run there greyhounds in graded races at the ZOO ever coming about under the present GRA ownership of the track....

Seems like we are racing every Thursday in December, so now's the chance for everyone to support the meetings and give the GRA something to think about WELL SAID HENRY
WE ALL NOW THINGS DON'T ALWAYS GO OUR WAY BUT COME DECEMBER IF WE START RACING AGAIN ON A THURSDAY EVENING AT THE ZOO THESE MEETINGS HAVE TO BE WELL ATTENDED / SUPPORTED IN ORDER FOR THE GRA/BELLE VUE MANAGEMENT TO KEEP THEM GOING INTO 2014 AND BEYOND.
ROLL ON DECEMBER......Jimmy, you can book a restaurant table on the Love The Dogs Website for a Thursday Night in December so i presume it's expected that we will be racing.

THURSDAY 4th JULY 2013
I FULLY EXPECT AN ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE BELLE VUE RACING OFFICE SHORTLY REGARDING THE SWITCHING OF DAYS FOR THE ZOO'S WEEKLY MORNING TRIAL SESSION's.
OF COURSE THIS HAS TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE BELLE VUE RACING OFFICE TEAM BUT I EXPECT AS FROM SEPTEMBER THE TRIALS WILL TAKE PLACE ON A TUESDAY MORNING INSTEAD OF THE CURRANT THURSDAY SLOT.
I SEE THIS HAS A FORWARD MOVE AND WILL INABLE OUR TRAINERS TO TRIAL ON A TUESDAY AND THE POSSIBILTY OF GETTING A SECOND TRIAL INTO A DOG ON THE SATURDAY EVENING BEFORE RACING, THUS MEANING OUR GREYHOUNDS WILL BE ABLE TO GET ONTO THE RACE CARD A BIT QUICKER THAN IT TAKES AT THE MINUTE.

That's a great idea, Tuesday makes a lot more sence. Plus if they start racing again on a Thursday night you couldn't expect trainers to come back and forth to the track twice in the same day
