Two fabulous performances on Sat 27th July & 31st July in A2 and A1 respectively warrant consideration for dog of the month for the Kath Harris trained DATONA DUKE.He has shown real improvement against quality opposition and appears to revel in these rainy conditions, bred out Droopys Maldini x Hatty Bluebird April 2011 Blue Dog.

I'll go for "GLIN HAWK". Three wins out of his last four in July after 14 fruitless runs at Belle Vue and two of them over an inadequate 470 then rounding off winning a midi Open over 590, probably his best ever performance. I believe he's had some injury problems in the past so it's nice to see him making up for lost time! A worthy candidate in my mind.

TAKEN FROM THE 'LOVE THE DOGS' WEBSITE
Performance of the Month - July
July’s performance of the month came from HIGHVIEW PAL, trained by John Walton and owned by Geoff Emerson.
On the 13th July Highview Pal was upgraded to A1 for the first time, his odds of 7/1 reflecting the calibre of his rivals with multiple top grade winners Klup, Devious Rumble, The Big I Am and Rei Doms Cantona all in opposition.
Able to get into good position early, he picked up frontrunner Klup at halfway and drew clear for a hugely impressive five and a quarter length success in a career best 27.95 seconds calculated. Other noteworthy performances came from the top class Watch Dave, promising puppy Slaneyside Moira and better-than-ever hurdler Thornfield Gold.
A special mention also for Rackethall Tiger; though ineligible for the award he won 4 open races at the track in as many starts in August.
