Best of luck to another new permit trainer Ben Reynolds...
VANGAAL {EX: Mark Wallis} greyhoundbet.racingpost.com/#search-dog/dog_id=490706
had his first look around the ZOO last night at the pre-race trial session.
The dog moved really well clocking 15.36sec {Normal}
BEST OF LUCK BEN IN THE COMING WEEKS AHEAD...Ran an excellent, very game race last night - had every chance of winning but the experienced Jayms Storm beat him on the line pretty much to win by a short head but I was very impressed with his performance. Bet he won't be 6/1 NEXT time out!

GBGB OWNERS REPRESENTATIVE – PRESS RELEASE
The board of the GBGB yesterday considered the recommendation of its Nominations Committee regarding the search for a Practitioner Director to represent owners. The Board accepted the recommendation that owners Bob Boswell and Paul Ephremsen should be put forward for a ballot for the position.
All owners (individuals, partnerships and syndicate heads) with at least one greyhound currently registered with GBGB will be invited to register separately to participate in the ballot which will be supervised by the GBGB’s auditors Barnes Roffe.
Details of the registration process will be released next week.
Following the ballot, the successful candidate will be eligible to attend the next scheduled Board meeting of the GBGB on 18th May 2017.

I have to say this is my first reading of this thread but it's left me rather puzzled! Owner The Nominations Committee reported that there had been an exceptional response to the call for nominations for the role of Practitioner Directors for Owners. The ten nominations that had been received were of a high quality and the Committee recommended that six of the applicants should be invited to meet the Nominations Committee who would then recommend three of them to the 23rd March Board meeting. So they've had an *exceptional* response for nominations. Ten have been chosen to be whittled down to six and then three are to be recommended to a board meeting. Ok so far. Then, according to their press release which Norma kindly posted just over half an hour ago (as I write this) it says:- The board of the GBGB yesterday considered the recommendation of its Nominations Committee regarding the search for a Practitioner Director to represent owners. The Board accepted the recommendation that owners Bob Boswell and Paul Ephremsen should be put forward for a ballot for the position. So I'm wondering if they had so many applications and 10 were chosen to be whittled down to 6, how come only 2 are in the ballot? I thought it was going to be 3? Hmmm maybe they thought others might be too 'controversial' ... ie likely to putting forward an opposing view to the rest perhaps? What is it they say, every picture paints a thousand words.

Thank you, I Had my interview last week, but probably a big outsider but its something I believe I can introduce new ideas if given the chance, and think I am the only northern owner given an interview, also on RPGTV on 30th March and I will have some opinions on BV given the chance to voice them Unlucky, 'pieman'. You'd have been an excellent candidate. Will be nice to see you again on RPGTV and will look forward to hearing your opinions and ideas being aired - but as you say, given the chance to voice them!

TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR WEBSITEgreyhoundstar.co.uk/96-owner-trainers-spread-far-wide/96 OWNER TRAINERS SPREAD FAR AND WIDE.....The GBGB should license their 100th owner trainer this week. Between their Feb 24-March 24 Calendars, 96 new handlers have been registered.
As might have been ancticipated, there is a huge northern bias. 25 of the total are based in Scotland, even though there is only one track ‘under rules’ north of the border, Shawfield.
A further 29 applicants are based in the north of England, and a decent percentage of them are destined to race in the North East where Pelaw Grange, like Shawfield, have really embraced the new scheme.
There are decent numbers in the Midlands/Central region (21) with 13 in the East. The South of England fares badly – no coincidence given the scarcity of tracks, and there is just one new handler from Wales.

The GBGB is pleased to announce that former Wimbledon Racing Manager Gary Matthews has been appointed Sampling Steward for the South-East region. Gary will take up his appointment on Tuesday April 4.
Assistant registrar Emily Hall is leaving to take up maternity leave on Friday March 31 and her post will be covered by former Romford racing office assistant Tracey Moore.
