THE RED DEVILS BACK DOWN TO EARTH WITH A BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Betfred Super League
Salford Red Devils (6) 14 Tries: Lussick, Jones Goals: Sio 3
Leeds Rhinos (18) 46 Tries: Cuthbertson, Walker 3, Hurrell 2, Parcell, Handley Goals: Lolohea 7Jack Walker scored a hat-trick as Leeds Rhinos ended Salford's 100% start to the season with a 46-14 win - their first under head coach Dave Furner.
Salford crossed first but three quick scores in the space of five minutes put Leeds 18-6 up at the break.
The home side got the first score of the second half but then went down to 12 men with Jansin Turgut sin-binned.
Leeds scored two during that spell and added a further three after Turgut returned as Salford wilted.
Furner's return to the Super League, this time as a coach, had started with two defeats in extremely tough games against Warrington and Wigan.
However, they finally showed signs that things were starting to click, particularly in the halves as Richie Myler and Tui Lolohea impressed.
Ian Watson's Red Devils had impressed in their opening two outings against Huddersfield and London, but were blown away in two separate patches.
Joey Lussick sneaked in to put them in front, but once Adam Cuthbertson bashed his way over from Trent Merrin's break Leeds rushed in for quick-fire scores from Jack Walker and Konrad Hurrell.
Trailing 18-6 at half-time, Josh Jones got Salford up and running after the break with his sides second try.
But once Turgut was sin-binned, Leeds again showed the value of momentum in rugby league.
Hurrell bulldozed in for his second, Matt Parcell slipped over and Walker brought up his hat-trick before Ash Handley's finish in the corner handed Leeds a commanding advantage.
Salford: Evalds; Olpherts, Welham, Sa'u, Sio; Lui, Hastings; Mossop, Lussick, Dudson, Jones, Turgut, Flanagan.
Interchanges: Burke, Nakubuwai, Griffin, Tomkins.
Leeds: Walker; Briscoe, Watkins, Hurrell, Handley; Lolohea, Myler; Peteru, Dwyer, Cuthbertson, Ferres, Ward, Merrin.
Replacements: Parcell, Smith, Singleton, Donaldson.

**** RESULT **** HULL KINGSTON ROVER 22-24 SALFORD RED DEVILS.. Salford produced a superb second-half performance to overturn a 14-point deficit and continue their strong start of the Super League season at Hull KR.
The hosts raced into a 22-8 lead at the break thanks to tries from Weller Hauraki, Craig Hall, George Lawler and Jimmy Keinhorst, with the Red Devils briefly leading 8-6 after 26 minutes through Rob Lui and Josh Jones scores.
However, Ian Watson's side added 16 unanswered points in the second period as Derrell Olpherts, Ken Sio and Joey Lussick crossed the whitewash as Sio's second conversion with nine minutes left proved decisive in the 24-22 victory.
Salford returned to winning ways after last week's 46-14 hammering at home to Leeds to secure their third triumph from four matches, while the Robins have opened their season with two victories and two defeats.
Hull KR moved in front after seven minutes when former Salford forward Hauraki got on the end of Josh Drinkwater's grubber kick to crash over, with Ryan Shaw adding the extras.
Salford hit back when Lui collected a Jackson Hastings pass before throwing a dummy to power his way before Jones scored his third try in as many games to put the visitors into an 8-6 lead.
Three tries in the eight minutes at the end of the first half put Rovers in control as Drinkwater's perfectly-weighted kick found Hall to dot down in the corner before Lawler stretched over.
Keinhorst then scored a breakaway try in the 37th minute to extend Hull KR's advantage to 22-8, but that was as good as it got for the hosts.
Salford went in search of closing the gap and they did just that when great interplay between Jackson and Lui sent Olpherts over to reduce the gap to 22-14.
Sio finished off a fine Salford move when quick hands from Jackson, Lui, Niall evalds and Junior Sa'u put the winger in the corner with 16 minutes left, but he could not convert his own score which would have brought the away side level.
However, Sio held his nerve seven minutes later when he kicked the match-winning conversion after hooker Lussick bundled his way over from close range to seal a great comeback victory.

St Helens continued their 100% winning start to the Super League season with a dominant win at Salford Red Devils.
Classy-looking Saints crossed through Mark Percival, Jonny Lomax and James Roby to lead 16-0 at half-time.
Regan Grace then added a fourth try but the hosts had improved after the break and were rewarded when Derrell Olpherts caught Robert Lui's kick and went over.
Nevertheless, Saints had the final say, as Roby slid over for his second of the night, after Tommy Makinson's break.
On a wet evening at the AJ Bell Stadium, Saints missed just seven tackles to Salford's 25 and were deserved winners, for the fourth time in four matches so far this term.
The Red Devils, who have won three and lost two of their five fixtures, could have been beaten by a greater margin, but for Jackson Hastings' superb try-saving tackle to deny an inspired Makinson after half-time.
Victory put the visitors top of Super League for 24 hours at least in the early-season standings, ahead of Friday's fixtures.
St Helens ran in 11 tries in a 60-10 win when these sides met on the same ground last April.
