Stinging forecast for Wallis in Coral TV Trophy showpiece....
BUMBLEBEE BULLET was a shock but fully-deserved winner of the Coral TV Trophy over 925m at Romford on Friday as the 14-1 chance led home a one-two for Mark Wallis to blow the Trainer of the Year race wide open, writes Jonathan Kay of the Racing Post..
The script for the Β£10,000 contest was ripped up from the off as Burgess Honey pinged the lids to lead while heavily-supported odds-on favourite Riverside Honey was left flat-footed at the start having made all when setting a track record in the heats seven days earlier.
Soon prominent, Bumblebee Bullet went past Burgess Honey at the second bend and quickly pulled clear with some general bunching in behind doing her pursuers no favours.
With just under two laps to go, it was clear she had a tidy advantage and even checking at the pick-up on the final circuit could not stop her claiming the famous title.
Kennelmate Aayamza Breeze was the final challenger off the last bend but Bumblebee Bullet was not to be denied and toughed it out by a neck in 59.26sec with Riverside Honey, who ran a blinder in the circumstances, the same distance back in third.
Defending champion Savana Winner was fourth after failing to find racing room on a number of occasions.
Wallis picks up 70 points in the Trainer of the Year standings added and, following his Champion Stakes victory at the same track last week plus a double on the supporting card, has now closed down the lead of former assistant Patrick Janssens to around 60 points as he bids for an eighth straight title.
Ante-post favourite Badminton Donal impressed in the Coral Romford Puppy Cup heats over 400m as he clocked the fastest time in the opener.
Kevin Hutton's dog was soon in control and came home three and a half lengths to the good of Faydas Jet in clocking 23.71sec.
Droopys Carat, who had beaten Badminton Donal in a warm-up and was rated his closest outright rival, had to settle for second behind Heather Dimmock's Make No Apologie (23.96sec) in heat four.
June Harvey's Billies Tea confirmed debut promise when winning heat three in 23.93sec, Jim Daly's Blue Tick George ran down long-time leader Lagile Sky to take heat two in 24.11sec, 2018-winning trainer Phil Simmonds scored with Vancouver Mike (24.19sec) in heat five, while Paul Young's Young Princess landed a 3-1 into 5-4 gamble when taking the finale in 24.24sec.
Jason Heath's Westmeath Pearl was deposed as favourite for a 400m maiden final but proved the market wrong when winning in 24.13sec with heavily-supported Ballymoney Limit never a factor.

NEW GRADING STRUCTURE AT ROMFORD
Romford will attempt to get rid of grades within grades in A1 class from the start of next month.
At present the racing office have roughly three types of A1; one capable of winning open races, one which is almost A2 and another somewhere in the middle.
The Essex track currently has eight grading categories over the 400 metre trip but from next Wednesday October 2 there will be ten and the current βA1β will be split into three.
This will all mean that all other grades going down two rungs with A2 runners now being class as A4 and A8 being re-graded as A10.
Prizemoney for the βnewβ top two grades will increase, while other grades will be unaffected.
