ARC have issued a statement in relation to re-admission of crowds. There are no immediate plans to admit the public to ARC owned tracks: Newcastle, Sunderland, Perry Barr and Nottingham though the company remains in consultation with the respective local authorities. The statement reads:
ARC Greyhound Operations Director, Rachel Corden said, “As across all of our venues, we are keeping a very close eye on Government advice on reopening and admittance of crowds. At our greyhound stadia specifically, we are speaking to the relevant Local Authorities and are hopeful that we will be able to welcome people back through the gates in the very near future. We are also working on special plans for the Greyhound Derby Finals Night at Nottingham, with the aim that we can safely welcome as many people as possible to our feature night.”
“We are particularly looking forward to welcoming greyhound owners back on site and are incredibly grateful for their patience and loyalty throughout this difficult period.”

TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR MONDAY 14-9-20:::“We have been liaising with the different Local Authorities for our greyhound stadia and confirm that we will be trialing the return of owners at Sunderland, Newcastle & Nottingham later this week. We cannot currently gain approval to do a trial at Perry Barr, which is in a local lockdown area.
Sunderland will trial an event on Wednesday evening, Newcastle on Thursday evening and Nottingham on Friday evening. Next week we will trial two owner events at each of the three stadia. The Stadia will be communicating with their owners over the coming days to explain the on-line process for booking in, the Covid-19 measures and admissions policy that will be in place for their protection and to safeguard others, and the track & trace system.
We would like to thank our owners for their patience and really look forward to welcoming them back at three of our stadia.”
