..TOWCESTER GET SATURDAY AFTERNOON SLOT..
TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR β SEPTEMBER 29, 2020
With the 10pm curfew making evening racing less attractive/lucrative, Towcester have landed a betting shop fixture on Saturday afternoons replacing Henlow from October 31.
Promoter Kevin Boothby said: βIt is great news for the owners and trainers. We can get 450 people in complying with all the local authority restrictions.
We will be opening the restaurants and I think we can develop a great atmosphere with some high quality open and graded racing. This decision has been taken by the company to protect jobs and at Towcester we can open for 450 people in a Covid secure place due to the size of the racecourse.β
Henlow will resume the fixture from January 2021.

BOOTHBY STATEMENT RE PRIZE MONEY.....
TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR β NOVEMBER 8, 2020
Henlow/Towcester promoter Kevin Boothby has issued the following statement concerning prize money at both tracks from Monday:
βI am pleased that SIS have reached an agreement with the bookmakers as regarding carry on with racing during the lockdown period. However this has come at a cost as all betting shops in England are closed and this is how the revenue is generated to fund the service.
βAs from Monday 9th November win money on all graded races at Henlow and Towcester will be reduced by Β£40 per race.
βAlso all fixtures and number of races will remain the same and we will review the win money once lockdown has ended and hopefully betting shops reopened. I am pleased to say that the run money and your contract money will stay the same and will not be affected.
βAlso can I please remind everyone to stay safe and please social distance at the track and wear facemasks and wash your hands regularly.β
