Betfred Super League
Huddersfield (12) 16
Tries: Cudjoe, Sezer 2 Goals: Sezer 2
Salford (8) 24
Tries: Atkin, Inu 3 Goals: Inu 4Krisnan Inu's hat-trick helped Challenge Cup finalists Salford record their fourth win in a row as they beat in-form Huddersfield Giants.
Salford started slowly, with Leroy Cudjoe and Aidan Sezer crossing for Giants before Chris Atkin's intercept try reduced arrears.
Inu took control after the break, using his power and size out wide to score three tries in the corner.
Sezer had scored in between for Giants, whose three-game winning run is over.
Having booked their place in the Challenge Cup final on Saturday against Warrington, Salford continued their impressive form of late with another show of character.
Ian Watson's side awoke from their slumber when Atkin poached a first-half score and they continued their momentum after the break, showing ruthlessness when Giants were down to 12 men temporarily and utilising Inu's power.
Giants were well in the contest for a significant part of the game and were peerless in the first 30 minutes thanks to the skills of Sezer.
The disappointment for interim boss Luke Robinson is the way they allowed Salford back into the game at a comfortable time.
Huddersfield caretaker coach Luke Robinson: "We just don't seem to start the second halves well and it's come back to bite us. What hurts is we were in a position to win the game.
"My aim when I came into the role was to win as many games and finish as high up the ladder as possible and that's still my aim. We want to end the season with a bit of a flourish."
Salford head coach Ian Watson: "They are a hard-working group. They are gritty as a team and seeing us win late games is no surprise because they show that mentality in the way they train.
"It probably took the boys a few weeks to buy into the season but we're getting the rewards on the back of it now.
"What we're doing is sticking to the processes and it's working for us."
Huddersfield: Golding; McGillvary, Cudjoe, Jake Wardle, McIntosh; Gaskell, Sezer; Hewitt, Holmes, Matagi, Edwards, McQueen, Lawrence.
Interchanges: Russell, Joe Wardle, Trout, Gavet.
Salford: Sarginson; Williams, Watkins, Welham, Inu; Lolohea, Atkin; Mossop, Lussick, Dudson, Lannon, Greenwood, Yates.

HULL KINGSTON ROVERS 24 - 22 SALFORD RED DEVILS
Betfred Super League
Hull KR (12) 24 Tries: Lewis 2, Crooks, Abdull Goals: Ellis 4
Salford (6) 22 Tries: Jones, Yates, Ashall-Bott, Chamberlain Goals: Chamberlain 3Hull KR edged past Salford Red Devils in Super League after kick-off at the Halliwell Jones Stadium was delayed as both clubs awaited coronavirus results.
The game started an hour late, with two Salford players testing positive days before Saturday's Challenge Cup final.
Salford rested Dan Sarginson, Kallum Watkins and Tui Lolohea but pegged back strugglers Hull KR on four occasions.
Jamie Ellis' last-minute penalty eventually sealed victory for Rovers, who had lost their past five matches.
Salford had been on a run of five straight wins in all competitions but drop to ninth in Super League, one place above the Robins.
The change in kick-off time was announced just 90 minutes before the original start time of 14:00 BST, with two players from each side returning inconclusive coronavirus tests - on top of Salford's two positive results - this morning, meaning they had to be stood down.
Kane Linnett set up tries for Mikey Lewis and Ben Crooks - either side of a Connor Jones score for Salford - to put Hull KR 12-6 up at the interval.
Ian Watson's side again levelled through Luke Yates' burst under the posts but Rovers led once more after a penalty try, awarded to Lewis after the full-back was pushed away from collecting a grubber kick by Olly Ashall-Bott.
Ashall-Bott then side-stepped the Robins defence to score his first Salford try and make it 18-18.
Hull KR led for a fourth time when Jordan Abdull went over in the corner but Ed Chamberlain squared things up again for Salford before missing a kick to put them ahead for the first time.
In the final minute a high tackle by Pauli Pauli on Matt Parcell allowed Ellis to kick between the posts from 35 metres to give Rovers a much-needed win.
Hull KR: Lewis, Crooks, Linnett, Abdull, Kenny-Dowall, Ellis, Brierley, Mulhern, Minchella, W. Maher, Hauraki, Hadley, Garbutt. Interchanges: Parcell, Lawler, Trout, Gee.
Salford: Ashall-Bott, Chamberlain, C. Jones, Kear, L. Roberts, Gilmore, Atkin, Ikahihifo, Ackers, O. Roberts, Lannon, McCarthy, Burke. Interchanges: Aspey, Yates, Inu, Pauli.
