Best of luck to Niall Evalds at his new club in 2021
He's been a great player for the Reds and of course we will all miss him. But the fact remains players come and players go and that's the way it's always been watching Salford over the last 50 years or so.

Salford Red Devils captain Lee Mossop has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.In 2019, the forward led the Red Devils to a first Super League Grand Final appearance and has now committed to the club until the end of the 2022 season.
Mossop said: “I love playing at Salford, so this was an easy decision to make.
“I play my best rugby under Watto (Ian Watson) and I remember last time he extended I did the same straight away.
“At the moment, we’ve got a great group, so my job as captain isn’t a difficult one.
“We’ve changed the culture since I first joined the club, with every player coming here to achieve.
“The players we’ve signed recently all have hunger and passion. They’ve come for the right reasons.”
He added: “We all love playing in those big occasions.
“It was outstanding to lead the team out at Old Trafford and at the DW, with that away end packed.
“Now we’ve had time to reflect, it’s something that drives us on.
“I want to lift some silverware during my time at the club.”
The captain’s contract extension comes after head coach Ian Watson also committed his future to the club.
Watson said: “It’s great to have Moose sign up for the next two years.
“When he joined us in 2017, he embraced the challenges that we at Salford face and quickly established himself as a leader and the captain of our group.
“He’s driven the standards of being a team that competes and challenges the best teams, by pushing players to be better and leading with his actions on and off the field.
“We all saw in the run up to last year’s Grand Final and the last few games before the break, that he’s amongst the best front-rowers in our game and hopefully over the next few years Salford and Moose can have further success together.”
Mossop’s try against his former club Wigan Warriors sealed the Red Devils’ place in last year’s Grand Final, marking a memorable play-off campaign for the captain. All four matches from Salford’s 2019 play-off campaign are available to watch in full on RDTV.
Director of rugby & operations Ian Blease said: We’ve been talking with Lee for some time now and I’m really pleased to have secured our captain’s signature for the next two years.
“Lee is a winner and he epitomises our club’s vision and values. His determination to succeed makes him a great leader of men.
“He’s been exemplary as a player since he arrived at our club and I’m looking forward to working with Lee again for the next two years.”

Salford Red Devils forward Luke Yates has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.
This follows yesterday’s announcement that Red Devils captain Lee Mossop has also committed his future to the club until the end of the 2022 season.
Yates said: “I really believe in Watto (Ian Watson) and the club’s vision and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their success going forward.
“Once I got here, we started talking pretty early about extending my stay and the consistency this brings should help me perform at my best.
“It’s great to have Moose staying throughout that time too. He’s massive in the middle and has been dominant in the front-row for a long time.
“Now we can progress our relationship in the pack together, as I establish myself as a leader.”
He added: “Watto extending his stay was crucial to my decision.
“He’s a great technical coach and that’s the style that seems to get the best out of me.
“We’re focused on establishing the team in the conversation of clubs competing to win things and I want to win silverware in my time here.”
The 25-year-old has made an impressive start to his Red Devils career, ranking among the Betfred Super League’s top ten tackle makers for the 2020 season so far.
Watson said: “Luke is an important signing for us.
“I’m sure everyone has already seen the work ethic and passion that Luke’s displayed this season and he’ll only get better over the next couple of seasons.
“I’m really happy that we’ve secured his services and I have the opportunity to work with Luke going forward, as his energy is infectious and over the next few years I’m sure he’ll grow into a strong leader within our team.”
Director of rugby and operations Ian Blease added: “Luke has quickly become a significant piece in our club’s rebuild this year and I’m delighted to have him onboard for the next two years.
“I’m really pleased Luke has chosen to stay with the Red Devils, as he’s been a credit to the club since he arrived at the start of the season.
“Luke’s work ethic on and off the pitch is outstanding and he will now continue to thrive and improve as a player under Coach Watson’s guidance.”
Red Devils supporters can relive all of Yates’ appearances for the Salford by signing up to the club’s video subscription service RDTV.
Fans can also support the club during the suspended season by joining the Devils Draw lottery.

ACKERS JOINS RED DEVILS...Toronto Wolfpack hooker Andy Ackers has joined Salford Red Devils with immediate effect.
The 26-year-old has agreed a contract securing his services until the end of the 2022 season.
Joining the Red Devils will see him work alongside head coach Ian Watson and coaching consultant Paul Rowley, whom he has previously played under at Swinton Lions and Toronto respectively.
Ackers said: “It’s brilliant to be linking up with them again.
“I’ve spoken to Watto and Rowls and they’ve said my game’s going to fit in really well here.
“I’ve really enjoyed playing with Watto before. He gave me options that suited my style of play.
He added: “I took no persuading once I knew Salford were interested.
“Now I just can’t wait for us to get playing. I’ve been keeping myself at top fitness during lockdown, for when this season gets back underway.”
Ackers has been a key member of the Wolfpack squad in recent years, being an ever present in their 2019 promotion campaign. In the Betfred Super League, he has continued to be a key figure, contributing the most passes and third highest number of tackles of any player in their squad during the 2020 season.
Head coach Ian Watson said: “Andy will prove to be a great signing for Salford.
“He’s a player who’s coming into his prime and will add a real attacking threat, especially around the ruck, with his speed and skills, while also stiffening us up defensively.
“I’m pleased to have the opportunity to work with Andy again, as myself and Rowls have already had the experience of working with him.
“He made his senior debut at 19 and his energy and sheer determination to be one of the best nines really stands out in the way he competes at training and in games.
“This year, in Super League his performances have gotten stronger every week and Andy will complement the players in our squad, to make us a stronger team.”
The signing of Ackers follows recent contract extensions for Luke Yates and Salford captain Lee Mossop.
Director of rugby & operations Ian Blease said: “I’ve been watching Andy’s career develop over some years now and I always thought that if Andy became available at the right time, I would like to see him wear the Salford shirt.
“Andy fits into the club’s work ethic and culture we’ve been building for some years now. He’s extremely talented and he can now go on to become a great player within our organisation.
“Thank you to Toronto, who have been professional throughout this process. Ensuring Andy is able to join us as soon as we resume training is a real bonus for our club.”
Ackers will now join up with a number of his former teammates, including Rhys Williams and Elliott Kear, whom he represented London Broncos alongside.
To contribute towards the club’s continued recruitment, supporters can become a squad builder.
