IT IS NOW SHOWING, THAT ALL TRAINERS HAVE TO UPDATE THERE RUNNING STOCK. THAT won't HAPPEN AS AT THE MIN THE PRIZEMONEY, THAT WAS CUT BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER, IS TO LOW. IF AS I THOUGHT, A.R.C. ARE NOT INIT FOR THE LONG TERM. THEN PLEASE LET US KNOW NOW. WE CAN AT THE LEAST GET ANOTHER JOB THAT DOES PAY BETTER, OR DO SOMETHING ELSE.

READERS may well remember a post regarding the racing after lockdown.it was something to do with dogs trialing and a few days after racing. the general opinion of people was against it saying that it wouldn't suit the dogs. well it seems now that some of the dogs it didn't suit. so who was it decided that the greyhounds were ready, after 10 weeks of it would have probably been more cautious to have given them longer.and of course? next week everything should be ok.get the trials in then stagger the runners and all should be ok. there are lots of dogs to go back on the strength new and the rest of the older dogs.get them graded and things should be back to normal.but,but. GET AN INCREASE IN PRIZEMONEY. because you simply cannot compete with other tracks at half and less of earnings. DOGS COST BV OWNERS AND TRAINERS THE SAME AS OTHER TRACKS SO ITS HARD TO COMPETE.IN FACT .WE CANNOT.

This break in racing has been no longer a rest than a bitch in season might have, surely on the back of it a dog should be able to take a run a week? - a sprint and a 462 a week later, followed by a race a week after that. Unless they've done nothing at all with the dog most trainers would have had a problem keeping a lid on most of the dogs in the kennel and getting plenty of work into them to keep them ticking over. I agree with regards prize money, as a relative new owner to the track the prize money is poor (polite word) and the situation needs addressing as a priority before the game loses even more owners, comparing it to other tracks we are way behind and some sort of parity needs to be found, nobody who owns greyhounds intends to make anything from the game but when I'm being offered a dog for 3 or 4k and your paid about 25 quid to turn out it is a bitter pill to swallow, I dont even know how we can go about addressing these issues, some are probably just happy to have a track to race at at the moment and ARC are probably using that situation to their advantage but I think it is really unfair given the amount of time and dedication the tracks kennels are putting in to the game.

fact file. if that's your opinion.fine.its not an argument I want to get into, its more reason for the things that have happened. our own dogs are fine and we have had no fitness complaints.in fact, all are chomping on the bit.so why did I write that, just to find some reasons for the poor showing of some trainers dogs, and also some trainers seem to be running lame? or sore dogs. all I was trying to do was to be diplomatic.so don't shoot the messenger.no offence implied or taken.ty

I have to say that IMO Scott Ellis has been subjected to a lot of unfair criticism about todayβs cancellation of racing. Iβm not Scottβs biggest fan, but why is this his fault? He has followed GBGB guidelines regarding giving each greyhound two trials before grading them on and has done so within the timeframes available. I suspect that privately he feels let down by some trainers who have not produced all their dogs fit enough to stand two trials before being able to run a race. I recall Benny saying before trialling that Bev had not been able to gallop her dogs as much as she would have liked because of the hard ground. After the first lot of trials, Benny said that her dogs had been slow. Yet Bevβs kennel has had no issues with soreness, indeed she won five of the ten races at the first meeting. My impression after the trials was that Garry Griffithβs dogs had been the most impressive and he had wins in the A1 and A2 yesterday. So trainers have not been asked to do the impossible here...just do what they are paid to do. Clearly its not the ideal start, particularly since Belle Vue appears to be the only track suffering from this problem although a weak grading strength does not help. Now is not the time for hysterical posts. Thank goodness that the cancellation is NOT down to an increase in the R rate as reported yesterday nor due to a warning that an alien spaceship was expected to land in the middle of the track today obscuring the Stewardsβ view of racing . There are issues with how the track is being managed at the moment and hopefully these will be resolved as early as possible. In the meantime we need to stick together and support the people who surely are doing their best to keep racing going at this difficult time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ this explains better what I wrote earlier.sorry to nick your post Kevin.

The sooner our Ast Racing Manager Mick Smith returns to work the better that way at least our RM will have an extra pair of hands to help him sort things out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ it hasn't been easy for anyone this lockdown.however.the need for ALL HANDS ON DECK seems the appropriate way forward. some it seems want a go at Scot he can only do what he can, and is allowed.no more. MICK SMITH is someone who KNOWS the grading scenario, better than most, he should IMO be called back ASAP. GET ANOTHER DAY TO GRADE BACK ALL THE DOGS.and we go from there. and again I don't see why we can't be the equal in pay as other tracks.
