WE have not galloped any dogs for a good few days now.its far too hard, we could do with an amount of rain before we start again, in fact our dogs now could do with trialing on sprints only to get them back on track.. we do have a couple of small paddocks to let them meander round ,do as they wish.

JUST BEEN TO THE GARAGE for some newspapers. and I saw someone I used to know quite well. he was a transporter of greyhounds. I'm not in the business now he said. the ferries are so expensive, and if you cant get a full load its a waste of time. so this left me thinking. what is the basic prizemoney people find as acceptable? the promotors want to pay as little as possible. the large bookmakers want to screw the punter and breeders want the best returns they can get. it's going nowhere. all the extra racing has reduced for all concerned less of everything.overall. owners used to enjoy watching and taking interest in their own animals. everybody had [in there eyes ] their own champions. then bags came and if you did or did not like it bags racing took place and the punter could no more watch there own pride ,and they were expected to accommodate the tracks by providing there dogs out of there money .so the tracks could run there dogs for no extra .and when they were working.so its no wonder a lot of ownership ceased. greyhounds now cost £1500 [thats cheap] for a basic grade animal.so £20 per run [at present] means it takes at least 18nths to achieve anything back. maybe going back to flapping is the only alternative to get anywhere.and that's a rarity a flapping track open. there is going to HAVE to be serious changes soon. its not doom and gloom but reality.how long can people be expected to survive on thank yous.

SOME PEOPLE are indicating that racing will begin again on the 18 of May, don't know if its a guess or if its a fact .if it is a fact where do they get their information.from. if it is the date stated then we will have to be trialing as of now.otherwise dogs won't be ready.so our advisors would surely be on their toes and have given us a date.we are nowhere near ready because we stopped any galloping as the grounds too hard. SO we shall have to see some racing response soon. or an update. some info of a sort , to help us to decide.our best action.

From what I have read tracks up and down the country will start to trial back in the last two weeks in May ready to start racing early June.
Most of the tracks staff are still at home but I have heard of a track today informing there racing office team to return work next week in order to set trials up for the following week.
Hopefully this will happen at BV?

IM NOT so happy at going in public letting our dogs run free, some are lunatics.and should they see someone elses dog.it would be mayhem.and not good for anyone's welfare. the antis would have a field day.they have Alice in wonderland stories as it is.

Regarding the 18th being bandied about, I think that this is an assumed earliest date for perhaps beginning trialing back in? Should this turn out to be a correct assumption, on e would assume that all trainers would be informed at the same time, in order to prepare their hounds as best they can.

THERE ARE a lot of conflicting scenarios going to take place at bv.from what I heard there will be no Saturday night racing for a good while. so will bv get more bags meetings, and if so from where.? if we do will it be a situation where the sat bags are one meeting , and could it go on into an evening meeting so as to do a Romford type of situ, which could go as far as 20 odd races 0n sat.if so you could do ALL your racing in one day. we will soon know/
I think Kinsley did the same.must have run short of dogs. and will we get a rate increase, it would be a disappointment not to get the increase we deserve,
