...Stevie looks set for some more TV gold...BY JONATHAN KAY Thursday 6-8-20:CASTELL STEVIE has won his last three at Perry Barr, odds-on the last twice, and Lynn Short’s dog will be very hard to beat in an A1 over 480m at the Birmingham track at 7.16.
Most recently second in a maiden final at Central Park, he gets his favoured trap one draw again and the contest looks his to lose.
NEWINN BANGER is no longer the force which saw him chase home Argentina in the 2018 Puppy Derby final at Henlow but still looks capable of beating A1 rivals at 7.34.
Pat Rosney’s dog landed an A2 in good style two outings ago before just failing to make the bend when upped to this level and can track speedy Aghaburren Joy early this evening before asserting.
BOGGER ROSE made a hash of the start last week with the run best ignored but previous form makes Ian Bradford’s bitch of interest in the finale at 9.26.
Avoid a similar mishap at lids-rise, she has the speed to lead this field and could then benefit from scrimmaging in behind.
BALLYMARTIN HERO can follow up last week’s Newcastle victory to take the pick of two 480m A1s on the card at 7.09.
Gary Carmichael’s veteran just held off reopposing Final Mad on that occasion but should have come on a little more for the outing and can secure first run over classy Look Like Power.
Today’s bets::
Ballymartin Hero - Newcastle 7.09 Castell Stevie - Perry Barr 7.16 Newinn Banger - Perry Barr 7.34 Bogger Rose - Perry Barr 9.26
