Sorry I haven' t got any photos to show you but the operations manager , Jane , has taken quite a few so maybe they are on the Love the Dogs website etc .. ? Anyway , a lot going on .. Following instructions from Jane and MH , I have positioned around forty smallish empty beer barrels , which have made up eleven van parking ' bay `areas all marked up with their own Bay number . As trainers and staff drive in they go immediate right and will see all the spaces as they back in towards the perimeter fence ( next to Kirky Lane ) . Each trainer will be given a Bay number . There will be seven other spaces created , some to the left as you drive in , and some near the portacabin . There will be plenty of room in each space for unloading from the back or from the side of the vehicles . All the spaces are fairly adjacent to the actual paddock , remember the actual races themselves there will be more time between each race to walk the dogs . Its not really that much more walking in all truth , just slightly more . The parading will probably be next to the stock car fence as there is more room there and as each dog is introduced , the trainer then turns immediately right and then walks in front of the flower / scrub trough to the left of the winning post as we look at it , so the parade will be quite a ' circular ' one and more spread out . After the race as the trainers walk back , as they go through the small gate next to the 470 stalls , instead of turning left to the Paddock directly , it has been suggested to walk straight on , up some small steps and through a fire exit gate that is normally used for stock car staff and then round the outside Paddock walls . This area I will be clearing out , restacking some pallets and fencing , and I think several dollops of sand may be raked in there to provide a smooth walkway . So its just a case of spacing everyone out , we have a huge site so we have plenty of room to play with . I can' t see any problem with this at all , we are nearly there with it , should all be ready by end of next week . The track I have thoroughly watered yesterday and be giving it another dose tomorrow and also on Saturday morning . Ash and Paul have worked hard on the track and its looking first class . I have been asked to dig out all the turf that overlaps the actual hare rail track itself and have done 80% of it . The worst area was around the second bend where there was around an eighty foot section of it , I have around thirty foot left to level out and also ensure that the ' camber ' is precisely what it should be . The maintenance manager will be giving the hare a full test this weekend and expects it to be running 100% ok . I am confident of this ... I have persuaded MH to allow me to do ' some ' gardening , albeit fairly limited , but the lawns on the first , second , third and fourth bends , right next to the hare rail , have all been cut down . The turf on the standside of the hare rail has all been cut and thoroughly watered . All the lawns have been watered on the trackside and a little bit of mowing may be done on the two lawns around the parade areas . The point is MH and Arc are not anti gardening , far from it , but its sorting out the staff route layouts and the actual racing surface are the top priorities . Some members are jumping up and down regarding the state of all the lawns but I am confident that once we get a few meetings under our belts , MH and Arc will give me the go ahead for a major assault on ALL the lawns , its really just a matter of bringing in all the controls . Once we seem to be ticking over other jobs will be re started such as a number of site / stadium clean ups . The battle in the laundry room is far from finished but for now is almost acceptable , the next clean up will probably be the paraders room which is in a shocking state . These rooms have GOT to be clinically clean NOT in a run down state . I was contacted a week before racing ceased by TRP who asked me whether I could cover saturday meetings from 2 .12 pm to 5 . 41 pm . I said I am ready , no problem . It has NOT been confirmed as yet but once we get some meetings done , am fairly sure TRP will give the go ahead as they are pretty desperate to get in as many meetings as possible and our racing is top class and we always put on a good show . So its all sloting into place , its a big effort , all MH and Arc want are the meetings back on and everyone ok !

First class posting flowerpot
Many thanks for keeping us all up to speed. I am looking forward to racing starting again at the zoo of course we can't come to watch our greyhounds race but I'm sure we will be able to tune in on line.
Good luck to all the staff and greyhound trainers in the coming weeks ahead.
