FOBVS - LATEST UPDATE Hi All, As I suggested might well happen when I sent out the last update! We are not on the Agenda for the Sept' Planning meeting, as confirmed very recently by email from Jeni Regan from the planning office! The next possible date is October 17th, which is more realistic for the RTA to be completed for new submission by CEstates/Crown Oil, and even then it might be cutting things fine. I expect October - but I have been known to get things wrong B4. lol *One or two of our group haven't helped our cause by NOT putting down unwelcome rumors! I have always said to you all, that you will hear the news as soon as either Simon or myself get it! As part of ACV we have to be informed legally if and when something happens, right away or pretty damn quickly! Help us, help our group, by squashing silly rumor, let us try to remain positive at all times while we are still in there swinging! FOBVS - ACV Supporter NEWSFLASH Ref: Further discussions with Planning today! Hi All, Following further discussions with planning, I have just been informed that there are a number of issues still to be resolved! Amongst these, are two that are of particular interest to you at this stage! There is still an outstanding issue related to Sport England, who have raised objections and at this stage are unwilling to withdraw these objections unless their objections are met satisfactorily - in full! Secondly - there are is an issue regarding the viability of the submission which planning do not appear to be happy with. One part of this is the issue of affordable housing contained within the plan, which is currently considered not to be sufficient to suit planning! These issues would need to be resolved before any further progress can be made towards submission point being reached! Not wishing to build false hope, there appears to be enough incentive in this latest little snippet of news, for us to remain ever hopeful in our continued quest for survival! It is now anyone's guess when this plan will reach submission point? Our fervent hope - is never! Chin up, everyone! More whenever. Latest update on our fight to save our Stadium!
Following my discussion today with our Chairman, Simon, I can update you all on the latest news that we are able to put out! • The Planning submission WAS on the Agenda for this Month This has now been withdrawn following concerns on a number of issues We, with the backing of our fiscal support, for which we, as ever, are extremely grateful, have visited our Legal representatives earlier this week to discuss some of stated issues of concern, many of which we have been raising ourselves. There are still outstanding viability concerns regarding the affordable housing contained within the planning submission and we have on good authority that there could well be a review on fiscal issues related to this – ongoing! There are still outstanding concerns “on our side” related to our view that we (Greyhound Racing) should in fact be regarded as a sport – even though Sport England don’t “officially” recognise this as being so. We contend that IF we aren’t a sport, with an official ruling body – our Greyhound Board, then why are we being called to account in the big house in the smoke? This is currently an ongoing point of concern that has been raised by us, we are still fighting on this front, and points are being discussed in the BH. More on this whenever! I am not at all sure that I have posted all of the points that are currently relevant to our cause, but I am sure that Simon will put me right on this!
