..The Super League has confirmed the 2021 campaign has been delayed by two weeks..
The season was initially due to get underway on March 11, in just eight weeks’ time, but clubs have agreed to push that date back.
As such, round one has been rescheduled to start on March 25 which increases the competition’s chances of getting a new season underway with at least some supporters inside grounds.
Not since March last year have supporters been welcomed into a rugby league game in the UK and the hope is that fans will be able to return in some capacity sooner rather than later.
The Grand Final will still take place on October 9, just a few weeks before the World Cup is due to get underway and it’s not yet clear whether changes to the format of the season will be made.
At present the season is due to be 27 games long, but that may be reduced in order to ease the workload of players during the year.
