Jenny ready to march on in Oaks semis

ACOMB JENNY impressed on her return from a layoff in the heats last week and Kevin Ferguson’s bitch looks an obvious pick in the opening semi-final of the BGBF British Bred Oaks over 483m at Doncaster (8.17).

She could again have the legs of her rivals early, aided by Russanda June on her immediate inside in five looking for the rails, and should be that bit fitter for her first race since May as well.

BARNSIDE MILLIE got the better of Acomb Lillian by the minimum margin after a brilliant to-and-fro buckle seven days ago and can again come out on top in the second semi at 8.38.

Trained by Sean Parker, the selection looks better drawn in four than fellow middle seed Acomb Lillian in six as that rival will likely have to take an even longer route round her this time.

CHARDER COOL was flat-footed at the start on her B2 debut last week but ran pretty well afterwards to finish second and Paul Prior’s bitch can go one better in a 450m contest at 9.12.

This is just her sixth race and she already seems the sort who will be hit-and-miss in terms of trapping but there is little doubt she has tremendous early when she does get going.

The British debut of GRANCORE SUZIE was effectively over when she was left at traps but the Diane Cross-trained bitch then showed enough to be of interest in a B3 at 8.54.

Switching from one to two may help in terms of trapping with her Irish form definitely suggesting she has a decent start in her.
