AYOZAT will broadcast live greyhound racing on its own Sky channel for the first time on Saturday to cover Towcester’s Star Sports/TRC Greyhound Derby final card.
The programme, sponsored by a group of bookmakers, most notably lead sponsor BetGoodwin and Derby co-sponsor Star Sports, will be available to view from 5.45pm on Sky channel 186 and covers the 14-race card including the £175,000 Classic decider.
Three months after SportyStuffTV ceased broadcasting, the former channel’s chairman, Kevan Moretti, who is now also chairman of Ayozat, said: “We’re looking forward to a spectacular final on Saturday and are so proud we kept the Derby on air for another year.
“It’s been a compelling watch, the racing has been top-class and this has been a vintage Derby.”
Viewers have been able to watch five rounds of racing so far unfold across eight nights of action on the Ayozat pay-per-view stream which has been available to watch on the technology company’s website, but Saturday will mark greyhound racing’s debut on Sky 186.

DE LAHDEDAH gave co Kerry-based Liam Dowling his first English Derby winner when running away with the £175,000 Star Sports and TRC prize over 500m at Towcester on Saturday. He was later announced to have equalled the track record with 28.58sec.
Drifting out to 5-1 due to concern about his trap four draw, the complexion of the race changed when 11-10F King Memphis in three was hopeless left as the boxes opened.
Boylesports Bob and Whyaye Man both broke well but Churchfield Syd showed the best early pace to take charge on the run to the bend.
De Lahdedah, however. was travelling ominously well and surged into lead at the second turn, pulling clear.
There was some bunching at the third bend where Boylesports Bob, who kept very wide, stayed on well for second, beaten two and a lengths in 28.58sec, the same time as the track record also held by Droopys Clue and King Memphis.
Whyaye Man kept on for third as Churchfield Syd took fourth. Ballymac Gizmo, a kennelmate of the winner, was fifth. He had broken slowly and been crowded at the third behind Whyaye Man.
De Lahdedah now seems likely to bid for the £50,000 bonus from Star Sports in the BoyleSports Irish Derby which this year starts later in October.
