Ian Foster elected as new GBGB Owner Practitioner Director The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) is pleased to announce that Ian Foster has been elected as the new Owner Practitioner Director. As Ownersβ Rep, Ian will represent the views of all GBGB registered owners and ensure their interests are represented at Board level.
A retired lawyer, Ian has been involved in greyhound racing for over 40 years. He began fundraising as a teenager for the Southend Retired Greyhound Association before buying his first greyhound in the early 1980s which raced at Romford and Southend. He subsequently founded Noduff Racing and currently owns 11 dogs that run at Monmore and Crayford. Through the Watford Gap Racing Club syndicate, he is part-owner of a further two racing greyhounds.
The election count took place today at the GBGB Auditorβs office, Barnes Roffe LLP. Candidate Alun Williams was present through the count. Out of the 3,594 voting cards that were sent out to registered GBGB owners, 725 were returned (a return of 20%).
The result was as follows:
Ian Foster 260
Kevin Boothby 247
Jayne Conway 158
Alun Williams 60
Announcing the result, GBGB Chairman Jeremy Cooper said:
βFirst and foremost, I want to congratulate Ian for his success in the election vote. My thanks go to all four candidates for the commitment and energy they put into their campaigns, as well as to the registered owners who took the time to vote for their next representative.
βIan submitted a compelling manifesto and we look forward to working with him to bring this to fruition. Over the coming weeks, we will provide him will a full induction onto the Board before welcoming him to his first Board meeting next month.β
Ian will join the GBGB Board for its next main board meeting on 19th May 2022.

TAKEN FROM THE GREYHOUND STAR WEBSITE.STATEMENT FROM KINSLEY GREYHOUND STADIUM DIRECTORS
Statement form Kinsley Greyhound Stadium Directors In the last few weeks, the rumour mill has been overactive (Chinese Whispers) or more likely (South Yorkshire Whispers) that Kinsley is to close itβs doors! Well, just for the record . . .
Kinsley Greyhound Stadium core business is greyhound racing first and last. Kinsley opened as a greyhound track in March 1939. It current owners are Keith John Murrell and John Curran along with their families. The families are committed to continue the core business of greyhound racing.
We have no intention of seeking to change our successful core business of greyhound racing.
NONE
We are not seeking a sale (not for sale). We are we not seeking a change of use or development of the site (no planning application on this site). We intend to greyhound race as our core business model beyond 2030 unless the likes of Elon Musk become interested in building an electric car plant at Kinsley dog track.
Kinsley could well get to its Centenary (2039) be it with or without us. Since the two families acquired Kinsley on April 1 1985, we have made a trading profit each and every year.
As a successful business we have no debt to the banks, plenty of assets cash reserves, to help the business cash reserves and we both have had a state pension increase of Β£3 a week. Since we donβt need a wage increase at this time, this injection of cash should further help our business cash reserves β thank you Rishi.
In a nutshell Kinsley is going no where we in it for the long haul.
Core business β greyhound racing.
John Curran Keith John Murrell
