Domino Storm: fastest in the ECC Timber Oaks semis at Belle Vue Team Wallis has pair through to Oaks final By Jim Cremin of the Racing Post IN-FORM Mark Wallis, seeking to defend the ECC Oaks title that his team landed last year via Cashen Maureen, has two through to Wednesday's bitch showcase in Manchester, including fastest Domino Storm (27.88sec), and kennelmate Evanta Evita, who reached the final for the second year.
Domino Storm blasted clear with a 4.36sec sectional, chased home by Hayley Keightley's Roxholme Hottie and Bromwich Sue - who was runner-up last year for Lynn Cook.
Charlie Lister's Tyrur Caroline (28.04sec) overcame a trap five draw in the other semi, tracking over to the rails at the bend, and then slipping clear to beat Evanta Evita by four lengths, with Carla Hendy's Newinn This Way going through third after a messy race which left Fabulous Expert on the deck.
Honour of fastest of the night came in the ECC Timber Laurels, where Hayley Keightley's On Alert scooted of bunching to score by seven lengths in 27.80sec, with Taranis Bold snatching second for Kevin Hutton.
Dean Childs' Millwards Whitey made all in the second semi (27.90sec), scoring by nearly five lengths with a bunched finish for second taken by Michael Hurst's Rock Me Kewell.
The third semi saw Geraldine Kovac's Blakes Turbo pull off a 25-1 surprise (28.02sec), where he held Ireland's Ballymac Ricky by threequarters after another tight picture to decide the other qualifier - Leonard O'Hanlon's dog had prevailed by a short-head over Stay Loose.
