LOOK AT THE LAST RACE 'Shadrack' THE WINNER MAYS MASTER HIT THE FRONT EARLY AND RECORDED ONLY 28.44sec [-50] 27.94sec.
HIS BEST TIME EVER WAS A CALCULATED 27.93sec WAY BACK IN FEBRUARY.
IN MY OPINION I THINK THE GOING GIVEN BY THE BV RO TEAM FOR LAST NIGHTS RACING WAS MORE OR LESS SPOT ON,
TRIALS WELL THAT'S ALWAYS HARD WHEN THE PROGRAMME IS FULL OF OPEN RACE GREYHOUNDS BECAUSE AS YOU KNOW YOU NEED TO HAVE A FEW REGULAR GRADERS GOING ROUND IN ORDER TO BE SPOT ON WITH YOUR OPINION.
PERHAPS BVOF MEMBER 'Paul45' AND HAVE A VIEW/OPINION ON THIS SUBJECT.

Morning Guys. I have to say, we discussed this on Saturday evening at the table. True, it just doesn't look right, and isn't right imo, added to the fact there was most definitely a faster strip of ground up the inside. The track had been salted, on a drying, bitterly cold night, it was what you would describe in racing terms as 'dead' ground, very testing particularly in the middle strip. You have to draw your own conclusions. Stephen

So basically Stephen you would agree around -20/30 for railers and about -60/70 for mid/wide runners makes Jaytee Vegas run even more special....

Special is a little rich , I doubt a wide will make the final, though I would say the 100/1 about Droopys Orange (Mid Wide though mid seeded) is an utter insult. As always in these situations you have to make your own opinion of the going allowance. Using the R.O as a guide, would tip you over the edge! They are an utter embarrassment. The going for Saturday evening was -20, -30 (-30 trials) at the very worst. A prime example would be the performance of a finalist from last year Evanta Evita. She's hardly come into this competition in flying form, and best time last year of 27.84, yet recorded 27.56 on Saturday evening, I'm sorry, this is the type of poor leadership currently on offer. I'd like to use Mays Master as an example, but find him awfully difficult to assess, plus his similar performance of many moons ago was hand timed, so could at least be half a dozen lengths out!!!. A very fast hound, but has frustrated me no end. I did think he would win Saturday though given the run of the meeting and an inside bias. S

Cheers Stephen. Can't wait for Friday so see the outcome and the times. I personally think Tyrur Caroline will win the final of the Oaks. But when these Mickey Mouse times are given - 27.48 on Winter going I wonder which planet they're on. -50 is a joke. ps - I hope it doesn't lose 3 or 4 lengths in running or Charlie will demand a stewards inquiry. He'll be pulling his hair out. lol She'll have to be a bit better at the start Fred. Good luck anyhow. S

Spot on Stephen imo, i said -30,quite a few of the dogs struggled on the going/track which i believe has led to the Ro adding some on to the going allowances.

I've lost the plot on the going allowance. I just know if it's slow, fast or normal and if there's a bias.
